The way people now treat the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Timothee Chalamet show that you cannot have opinions in Hollywood anymore. The moment you have an opinion and it's different to the viewer's you're fucking done. You have to be a blank canvas where the public can see whatever they want to see.

sydney sweeny got flak because she did a dumb advertisement and then handled the backlash extremely poorlytimmy got flak because he talks about wanting to be the best but he doesn't (yet) have a shred of what makes someone like ddl the bestNeither of them were attacked, they both brought it on themselves.
When you are an actor you are not a person, you are an avatar.
TIMOTHEE IS A FUCKING FAGGOT THAT BEGS THE URINE OF OSCARS WAHAHAHAHA
>>220090344>fucking butchered dunc with this one
>>220090344both ugly retards
It's always been that way, and not just in Hollywood. People will be less favorable to you if they know or think you have opinions they find objectionable. The difference today is that actors have much greater levels of interaction with the public, including direct personal communication through social media, than they did in the past, where the only way one would get exposure to an actor's personal views was through gossip rags or the occasional TV interview.>You have to be a blank canvas where the public can see whatever they want to see. That's really the best option as it alienates the fewest people, and only an issue if you have some strong need to let others know your opinions.
>>220090344Yes. Parasocial relationships with celebrities have become normalised to an extent, and people expect their idols to have the exact same worldview as them. Anything else is betrayal.
