Are anime compilation films released in cinemas a Tragedy to the cinema industry? They are just compilated tv show episodes, not real films.
Anime as a whole is a tragedy
It is an absolute travesty that people on the other side of the world are enjoying media in a way I don't approve of.
>>220093626I think it's embarrassing that paypig anime fans still turn out for these in 202X. They made sense in the '80s and '90s when limited broadcasters meant reruns weren't common and home video was still expensive. They don't make much sense in a world where the entire fucking show is on a streaming service whose monthly subscription is cheaper than a single ticket at the theatre.
>>220093921Japan still have a huge "limited release" cinema culture, they get collectable things of the show on each premiere and time they go to watch one of these films, so they basically keep doing it due merchandising and collectors.
>>220094313merch is everything in this field.anime is a 12 episode commercial for manga/merch, rarely anything more which is why the couple series per year that actually take the anime part serious stand out.
>>220093626>anime(cinema) and /tv/ are not the sameYou do realize you're in a wrong board.
>>220093626Go back to /a/
Anime is a dead medium.
>>220093626They usually include some new content in those "movies". And yeah, >>220094313 is correct. Japanese LOVE their collectables and merchandise. Otaku are the lifeblood of so much over there.
>>220094746It died in the 00s, everything after that is zombie media for troons
>>220093626Sex with Kumiko
>>220094313American paypigs are increasingly supporting this shit regardless of trashy trinkets. The Demon Slayer, JJK and Dandadan compilation movies have outgrossed Shinkai and Hosoda films in the U.S. The early access model is clearly what inspired the Digital Circus screenings, too. The latter is literally a show released for free on YouTube.
>>220095056Popcorn Vessels are the american equivalent of a japanese sticker of their favorite character.
>>220093626The first movie I ever watched in a theater was a compilation of Pippi Longstocking episodes so I'm thinking no
>>220094313>Japan still haveThe point of collective nouns is no longer using a plural
The Japanese are the ultimate consoomers. they think it's moral duty.
they're inferior to watching an anime showbut sometimes you don't have the time and energy to slog through 26 fucking episodes so I get it
>compilation film>changes more than half the storyWhat were they thinking
I have gaijin fatigue
What's even the point of gaijins complaining about anime compilation films released only in hundreds of theaters across Japan?
>>220095197This shit is mostly for normies in Japan, not hardcore anime nerds. 17 yo Japanese girls watch anime movies with friends in theaters nowadays.
>>220095747There are <1500 movie theatres in Japan. "Hundreds of theatres" wouldn't even be a limited release.
>>220093626>take 12 episodes>cut it down to 1h30>pacing is fucked up, can barely understand anything if you haven't seen the original>nips still go see it because they give shitty pamphlet or 10 pages short novel if you pay for a ticketHow long before Disney does the same for Marvel and Star Wars movies? one shitty exclusive toy for a rerelease or disney+ to theaters recut
>>220096065I don't know man I guess it would be a few hundreds for a semi irrelevant anime like this one
>>220096073americans in general are better at making money so maybe there's a reason they don't do this much
>>220095174Traitor
>>220096938No nigger that's the point of geammarWhen you try to say "Birmingham have done a good job" you sound like a retard
>>220096065Hundreds would be a significant percentage of 1500

>>220095056>American paypigs are increasingly supporting this shit regardless of trashy trinkets. The Demon Slayer, JJK and Dandadan compilation movies have outgrossed Shinkai and Hosoda films in the U.SThis is simply because normies watch those dubbed on CN or whatever channel it airs on. Normies eat it up because it's popular, socially acceptable, and cool, but only if its dubbed.
