S02E13 - "Definitely Miami">You don't know how to ease my pain.
>watching a random episode>sonny thinks he shot a kid>entire episode is sad and somber he's depressed, nearly quits the force>turns out it was a fucking midge that was a lifelong criminal so it's not only okay but a good thinglmao weird episode.
>>220097378It's just like In Bruges when Ralph shoots himself for thinking he shot a kid.
>80s bittersweet nostalgia>Crockett's theme starts playing
Is there any good torrent of Miami Vice? Asking for a friend so he can report it to the copyright owner.
>>220097378He wasn't a midge, but he was a child criminal involved with some Chicago shit. Season 4 had some confused shit going on.
that episode where Sonny is undercover as a nerd at the pool

Does /teevee/ still pretend the movie was good?

>>220098380the whole Jan Hammer soundtrack is 80s vibe kino
>>220098965It's certified Mann-kino.

>>220098911anything with castillo and the cia was kino like the episode were the cia assassin that went off the rails killing hookers during the vietnam war comes to town in miami and picks up his work there
The movie takes itself way too seriously. Jamie and Colin are also good actors but do not fit the roles of Crockett and Tubbs. Also extremely forgettable story and characters overall. All the movie nails are the vibes, and even those are different from the show.
>>220097124Wish Don was my father in law and I was plowing Dakota nightly.>>220100138Not exactly wrong but I still loved the vibes.

>>220098596That's even worse but I'm 99% sure it was a midge
>>220100548Kino episodeAlso what a qt
Poor poor Zito
>>220100548
>>220101250I remember there being a midge with a pickaxe in the Haitian voodoo gang boss episode, but I'm pretty sure the Crockett shooting a kid episode was a teenager who had felony assault charges in Chicago.
>>220098965its a diamond in the rough imo. it couldve been good and some elements of greatness are there but ultimately not complete
>>220098965I think the movie captures the familiar tone of the unending and unwinnable war against drugs and the hard won somber ending of most episodes. The main cartel guy gets away and they're left with a melancholic victory with the Asian lady separated from Crockett and Trudy barely surviving. I think it was lacking in the top down oppression element and not enough emphasis on institutional corruption (it's there with the source leak in the task force but it's not personally dealt with by any of the main team). It's not Mann's best but it's still better than a lot of other lesser director's bests.
For me it's when Castillo suddenly became a samurai for one episode.
>>220104350You mock, but the show would have quickly spiralled into inanity without the introduction of EDWARD JAMES OLMOS.
>>220104350>its a castillo episode where he reveals his knowledge and mastery of ninjutsu picked up during his time with the DEA
Don Johnson has the wildest relationship history in all of Hollywood and yet he's completely uncancelled
Love these two, and love Trudy's thick ass Also, the best way to watch this show is during summer, at night, while slowly getting drunk on mojitos or margaritas.
>>220104748>it's a Castillo episode that involves some kind of weird religious voodoo shit
>>220104831Too good damn handsome to be cancelled.
>>220100548>That shout of absolute panic as Tubbs screams for Crockett as the latter is approaching the room where Tubbs is trappedMan, Philip Michael Thomas might have not been a great actor but he did have fantastic control over his voice

>>220105265>Bruce Willis >Bellatrix >G Gordon Liddy >Lee Iacocca>DeBarge>Willie Nelson >Teller without Penn and speaking And on and on, it is the perfect 80's show and still better than anything currently being produced.
Such a great series.Shame that time goes by and fashion and styles change. I still enjoy seeing the '80's look but it just doesn't belong in todays world.
