Why does this show seem to be forgotten about?
>>
What was the ending again?
He was schizo?
>>
>>220102326
Because it ended a decade ago?
>>
>>220102326
I still love it. Elijah Wood's best project to date
>>
>>220102392
And? Seinfeld was over like 30 years ago and people still talk about it
>>
>>220102379
Yes. But it wasn't really a Fight Club style twist. He was an isolated and deteriorating man who, even if he hadn't been schizo, clearly even by episode 1 had severe mental health problems. It'd have been more surprising if human Wilfred was real.
>>
>>220102479
So was Wilfred real or not? And what was the retreat they went to at the end?
>>
>>220102512
>So was Wilfred real or not
It was a real dog that Ryan really took care of, but the "human in a dog costume" part was purely a hallucination.
>And what was the retreat they went to at the end?
I honestly can't remember, it's been ages since I watched the show. There were a lot of red herrings along the way to make you question if Ryan really wasn't insane, so it was probably one of those.

This post made me remember Greg the Bunny.
>>
>>220102565
Did you ever watch the Uk version?
>>
It wasn't very good.
Nothing memorable about it.
I watched all of it. Couldn't tell you a single plot point other than the fact that it was run of the mill

I think they never really knew what to do with the show

It was trying to be "ted" but worse
>>
I thought they were just going to suck the audience around forever without ever answering the question about what Wilfred really is. I thought that was the whole gag and it was like a Twin Peaks kind of idea where they never solve it and just keep throwing more and more mystery at you. Like Lost. So I quit watching at some point. Seems almost shocking to read what the ending of the series supposedly is. It must have become a mess
>>
>>220102607
that was a good show
>>
>>220102660
I loved it as I watched it, but I've never felt like rewatching it
>>
>>220102437
yeah cos Seinfeld was one of the greatest, most never heard of Wilfred.
>>
>>220102326
For downhill Elijah core, I rather watch Dirk Gently
Boy I love that show, even if the main character need to be 50% less hectic and the rocker girl needs to show more skin.
I liked the convoluted plots
>>
>>220102326
I remember watching the first season as it aired on tv in highschool. Completely forgot about it after that and it seems like everyone else I knew did the same. I don't really think there's anything worth going back to though, I can't remember a single scene from what I did watch.

>everybody talks about WWI
>why does nobody ever talk about the Emu War of 1932?

I didn't like that the dog died at the end. Why not just have Elijah realize that Wilfred is a normal dog, but then he gets to be happy with a normal dog? Instead they killed off the dog. And I think the chick rejected him too right? So he got nothing.
>>220102758
yeah, this
>>
>>220102848
Seinfeld wasn’t that great, I mean it’s a good show but a lot of filler and it hasn’t aged great
>>
>>220102983
>a lot of filler
Epic bait

>The soup place forgot to put bread in the bag, yada yada yada
>>
>>220102326
Perfect Robin Williams cameo
>>
>>220103093
So seinfeld is a jewish comedian and yada yada he’s in jail now
>>
>>220102774
Dirk Gently was awesome. The fact that the music for the first season was made by the man behind Utopia and The White Lotus elevated the show.
>>
>>220103061
I didn’t like the first season nor the last 2
>>
>>220102326
I saw the original, it was UK or Australian (too lazy to Google), I liked it but it’s just one of those 00s/10s shows I watched while in college (others: Trailer Park Boys, Arrested Development, Black Books, Peep Show, The IT Crowd, The Inbetweeners, My Name is Earl, The Mighty Boosh etc. etc. etc.) that I can’t watch anymore because it just reminds me of a very different life. I do remember watching a bit of the remake but thinking the original was darker and more to my taste.
>>
>>220103093
It's episodic slice of life, how could there be filler?
>>
>>220103232
It was a better life though? Yes?
>>
>>220103232
black books is way better than this show
>>
>>220102326
The comedian who played the dog went full lefty schizo
>>
>>220103317
Definitely! No question about it. What I meant is, it’s not the quality of the shows, they’re still great, it’s just painful to remember how good my life was (youthful, slender, full head of hair, lots of girls, lots of partying vs older, full waisted, thinning hair, glasses, can’t drink because I screwed my health up etc) and how stable our country was back then. Just a personal thing.
>>
>>220103596
Sounds like he woke up
>>
>>220103923
No I get it I’m 39 and feel what you said and yes current day does suck and I hate everyday.
>>
>>220102660
There just really isn't anywhere interesting to take the plot. Dog creates a problem, guy needs to deal with it. Rinse repeat
