Not even remotely FMJ is two movies crammed into one runtime and the only one people remember or even like is the one with R. Lee Ermey and Vincent D'Onofrio. Nobody gives a shit about the second half with Matthew Modine trying to get laid or being vaguely upset about a dead VeeCee.
Stanley Kubrick was a great visualist, but much his films are pretty fucking hollow.
Predator isn't particularly deep, but it doesn't put on airs, it's there to deliver the best goddamn action movie you've ever seen and look good doing it, and RoboCop takes a a silly premise and mines it to examine the nature of the soul and humanity itself.

>>
>>220105534
The bootcamp scenes are better because R. Lee Ermey makes that movie, D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin are good as well, but Ermey is the star. Nobody gives a shit about Modine.
The story itself is boring as shit. Casualties of War and Born on the Forth of July, both tell better Vietnam stories.

Niggers were more considerate to keep their nigger ways in their hoods. Women weren't the insufferable cunts they have become today. Faggots kept their faggotry to themselves. People pretty much tried to behave in public so as not to be a nuisance. The big threat was nuclear destruction where as today it's death by global industrialist tyranny.

I was born in 1985 and most of you never seem to mention that back in the 90s we were always expecting things to get even better than what they currently were. Shit moved so fast back then, computers got obsolete within 6 months, it was just fad after fad after fad with something new ready to replace the current trend. I specifically told myself back then that I would never feel nostalgia for the 90s because the future has got to be a lot better.

Actors knew their place. As cock holsters for the actual creative talent. They were there to follow orders and look insanely attractive.
Now they don’t look attractive and they are just there to tick some boxes to hit target demographics. There’s no artistic vision. Even the absolute dog shit slop films of the 80’s-90’s still ended up being fun.
The rule changes made to accommodate women in corporte leadership killed fun. Flicks are no longer enjoyable. You’re not supposed to be having a good time. You’re supposed to be thinking about climate change or racism and feel really really bad about it

I remember going to a mom n pop VHS rental place with my sister when I was a kid. I stopped by a vending machine outside and thought door was still open and bashed my head with a big CLAAAANGGGG on the clear glass door.

Little retard going owwie trying not to cry while the grownups tried not to laugh and subtly egging me on to bawl. Good stuff, I remember renting honey I shrunk the kids every single time while trying to build up the courage to see if I could get away with renting an adult movie.

Also there were no niggers, arabs, and homos back then so it was safe to send kids out by themselves.

I remember sneaking out by myself to buy pokemon silver at the mall and eating a slice of pizza while I was a little retard. I also bshed my head against the clear glass door at the pizza place because I thought it was automatic.

what a let down
I was about 5 years too young and just caught all the best films on tv/video
first time I saw predator I was pretty young and the moment they found the pile of guts in the jungle I left the room.
was also too scared to watch nightmare on elm street first time round, I was maybe 9. at 10 I watched lots of conan and other action films at a friend's house, it was his cool older brother's video collection.
robocop for the first time at 10 was a bit tough at times, the first blasting scene and the melted guy particularly, but saw the whole thing.
set me on a path of appreciation for action films thereafter.
>>
>>220106565
pred and robo are near perfect films, lost boys is good and classic, fmj is mediocre and feels cheap and fake, especially the second half. it just doesn't feel like avietnam film. r lee ermy was good but that's it.
