Could Lane's death are have been prevented?
>>
>Blimey, I've defrauded my company! Right right, time to kill myself instead of just taking an L. Musnt forget to write a resignation letter on my way out. Cheerio!
What a drama queen.
>>
OI MATE, AV YOU GOT A SUICIDE LOICENSE
>>
>>220107915
If he had made a suicidal gesture and Don caught him in the knick of time, he’d probably go back on him having to resign
>>
>>220108097
I don't even know why Don was so pissy about it anyway. Like am I seriously supposed to believe Roger wasn't lax about the finer points of the company coffers? I mean, the agency was basically founded on prostitution, who cares about money being moved around and eventually replaced?
>>
>>220108025
he was miserable even before getting shitcanned. the job was basically the only thing keeping him alive
>>
>>220108184
>I can't trust you.
Don is a giant hypocrite but the most correct thing he said to Lane was that Lane could have just asked for a loan. Lane was too proud to do that even though he saw Don pay 20k for Pete earlier.
>>
>dead guy for ants
>>
>>220108200
>Oh no I'm a high level executive with a loving wife in a country 1000x better than my country of birth during the most prosperous time period in human history whaaaa
Seriously, what the fuck was his problem?
>>
>>220108265
All dead guys are for ants if you think about it
>>220108236
That's true. The amount he stole was basically chump change. I guess pride was his biggest issue. Both in not asking for help and killing himself to avoid the embarrassment of being canned
>>
>>220108184
He was upset because he signed the check Don Draper. Dick already has a complex of guilt around signing as Don officially (partially shown by his reluctance to have a contract). Lane signing Don Draper is like double rape
>>
>>220108326
Never thought about that but yeah, I think you're right.
>>
>>220107915
yeah. Don was a hypocrite
>>
>>220107915
imagine if he had a big boner LMAO!

Don shouldn't have fired him. Don has broken every law known to man. He has zero high ground.

Kill yourself

>Particle board walls and drop ceiling fiber panels.
There is nothing in this picture that could possibly support the weight of a hanging man. Is he floating or what?
>>
>>220108326
Exactly. It wasn’t about the money, it was about Lane forging *his* name. Don can compartmentalize adultery, identity theft, desertion, whatever - that’s all “personal.” But Lane dragged the Don Draper construct into the light and used it.

For a guy whose entire existence is a stolen signature, seeing someone else casually sign it must’ve felt like staring into a mirror. He fires Lane because he can’t fire himself.
>>
>>220108270
he seemed to have an issue with women and always felt like a failure.
>>
>>220111787
Uh, buddy, that's what we're discussing to prevent. Get with the program.
>>
>>220112433
Well put, senpai.
>>
>>220107915
Should've killed "Draper" instead.
>>
>>220107915
Yes if Don had been more understanding to Lane.
>>
Lane was one of my favorite characters on the show. Sad that Joan was the one who found him
>>
Pete and Trudy's daughter grew into a 10/10 smoke show.
>>
>>220111598
nice stache bro
>>
>>220107915
Yeah, by not making Don suddenly go out of character and become some rigid morality hard-liner who completely ignores the context of Lane being too ashamed to ask for help, but doing whatever he can for the sake of the company.
And then Don treats him like some common scammer.
>>
>>220108401
The whole thing is pure Draper irony. He built an empire on a fake name and reinvention, but the second someone else tampers with the myth he snaps into “rules are rules” mode. Lane’s crime wasn’t the money, it was exposing that the king’s crown is papier-mâché.

If Don lets that slide, then the identity theft stops being this sacred personal burden and just becomes another office scam. He needed Lane gone to preserve the fantasy - for the agency and for himself. Doesn’t make it righteous, but it tracks.
>>
>>220108270
You'll never understand and it can never be explained to you because you're a spineless piece of sputum with no ambition whatsoever.
The only thing browns can think of is immediate, short term material comfort. That's why your societies are shit and you have to come begging us for sanctuary.

Lane left a paper trail.
