I loathe anime, but I've got a soft spot for Redline. It knows exactly what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Style over substance works for this kind of film.

The speed racer movie with John Feels Goodman was actually kino.
trava and shinkai are from Fist Planet, something the director had worked on previously, which has a similar artstyle. it's an ova with only a few episdoes, but i enjoyed it and it's really weird.
