> Butcher, already dying and worsened by the blast, uses the parasite to pin a weakened Homelander in the old lab.> Butcher covers his eyes like he did Victoria to allow Annie and Hughie to attack. Choreographed fight that lasts around 7 minutes with dialogue in between.> Butcher delivers the final blow to Homelander onscreen by tearing through his chest while Ryan watches.> Homelander dies visibly, no fakeout or cliffhanger. Agonizes slowly, tries to laser everyone but is too weak to deal any damage. Begs Ryan to save him, Ryan is visibly traumatized and Butcher grabs him with his tentacles.> After Homelander dies, Butcher’s parasite keeps moving and nearly lashes out at Ryan, but it’s treated as Butcher losing control of his body, not him consciously choosing to kill Ryan.> Butcher briefly regains enough control to realize what’s happening and tells Hughie to do it.> Hughie delivers the final blow to Butcher.> Butcher’s last line is “There he is.”> Ryan survives and is taken in by Hughie and Starlight.> Vought collapses publicly, but its tech gets absorbed by government/defense contractors.> Final scene shows Soldier Boy alive in damaged containment, leaving his fate open.
