What a terrifying scene. Was this nightmare inducing for you?

The series is all gnostic universalist bullspit.
>The old covenant Ark and Egyptian mysticism have magic powers pointing to a higher truth!
>The Hindu rocks and Shiva worship have magic powers pointing to a higher truth!
>The new covenant Cup, Templars, and Islamic mystics have magic powers pointing to a higher truth!
>>
>>220112945
It is still consistent if you subtract the implied Hindu stuff of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
>>
>>220112983
Not really
The Ark is unleashing the souls of vanquished Egyptians. Egyptian mysticism is tied highly to the plot and what happens in the movie.
Also the new covenant fulfills the old, they are not concurrent.
Movies are a ton of fun though, but it's retarded in this sense
>>
>>220113070
I thought that the Ark of the Covenant lore depicted in that movie was just of the standard Hebrew/Israelite/Jewish variety, but maybe I missed some details. I was thinking that Raiders of the Lost Ark equals the Old Testament, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade equals the New Testament.

>he chose....poorly
imagine dying horribly and then a 900 yr old recluse knight makes a joke about it
>>
>>220113239
On the surface, but it's different
And probably a big reason why it clicks with so many people
If you ever get bored rewd the indiana jones wiki where it chronicles all the in movie lore, which sound like throw away lines in the film
Gets into Egyptian well of souls and stuff
And then Muslims and Christians hiding the TRUE secret of the cup

The guys in the fezes were Christian, noy Muslim. Weren't they some ancient Coptic order trying to keep the Grail secret?
>>

>Weren't they some ancient Coptic order trying to keep the Grail secret?
pretty much. Theyre Turks/Greek (same thing lol) Christians, implied to be descendants of Byzantine soldiers

not true, it's liked by those of us that have reached a level of zen that allows us to mentally block out kate capshaws character entirely thus making the movie a fun adventure of Indy and short round taking down an Indian blood cult.

>The guys in the fezes were Christian, noy Muslim.
Wrong. They are called The Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword and even their symbol is a combination of the Islamic and Christian symbols.

Its all cults and supernatural shit. I dony think any of it contradicts each other even the interdimenional beings are fine.
>>
>>220113982
why would people who defend the cup of Christ not be Christians? Muslims believe he was a prophet but not the sun of god

It was always my favourite as a kid and still is. I didnt even know others didnt like it until reading forums in the late 90s/early 2000s
>>
>>220114027
>why would people who defend the cup of Christ not be Christians?
Because Indiana Jones universe is a universal religion with everything pointing to a esoteric hidden higher power. That's what I've been getting at
>>
>>220114079
Temple is fine for kids but it’s pretty hollow at its core, better than Skull and Dial but it’s got no heart to it like Crusade and isn’t as fun a pastiche as Raiders
>>
>>220114138
I disagree.
>best adventure
>best setting
>best music
Good relationship with indy and shorty, even the fish out of water whore provided a few funny moments.

No.

The corridor of bugs scene seemed to make for totally natural reactions. Even many men would react similarly.

indy kills a LOT of people in this movie
the child slavery is also a nice touch

Sorry to break the news to you, but that's how it is in reality. The 3 abrahamic religions just use that same higher power for their own due and proper. The Polytheist religious are just angels and demons influencing early stage progression. It's meant for primitive retards who cant understand greater concepts and structure.
>>
>>220114722
Yeah that was good
>>220115505
I liked his character the best in this movie

No, it was when Elsa fell to her death. It wasn't supposed to happen like this!
>>
>deep biblical scholar and grail researcher
>thinks the holy grail was a giant golden cup encrusted with jewels
was he stupid? you could argue the crusaders might have embellished it if they had ever found it but usually biblical artifacts like the holy lance and the holy nail have their original material showing very clearly through any added on edition.
>>
>>220112872
One of my earliest memories is being carried out of the theater screaming during that scene.
>>
>>220114079
>>220114264
Same. My only real complaint is the stupid raft scene and Willy as a character. The location is kino, the cult made for spooky villains, it has a far superior climax to Raiders (which just kind of ends), and the bug tunnel creeps me out to this day, and is rivaled only by the bug scene in King Kong '05.

Plus it's not yet another jew revenge fantasy.
>>
>>220118992
I mean i wouldn't want to be around her in real life but I likes my how she played off indy and shorty. Better than some strong woman bullshit.
>>
>>220112939
I enjoyed Dial

Very evocative of the holy Eucharist. To eat the bread of life when you are unprepared makes it become the bread of death.
>>
>Noo all the myths and supernatural HAVE to point to a one SINGLE universal truth
Is it some sort of midwit thing that drives one to be like this?
>>
>>220112872
>Desires eternal life
>Instead gets no life
Damn...!
