Is this really the best bond film of all time?
>>220115167I prefer the Spy who Loved Me, best Bond girl imo
>>220115167Yes
>>220115167Casino Royal was better
>>220115167>daniel craig Hell no
>>220115167Just rewatched it after almost 8 years, it's not as overrated and shit as I remember, I actually enjoyed it and see why it's the higest rated bond film ever. But Goldeneye or Casino still are the best
>>220115167No, but it has one of the best intros.
>>220115167No it was Die Another Day
>>220115270Still the only bond movie I never saw all the way through, it's so stupid I can't even take it seriously. Halle Berry is also the worst bond girl ever and Brosnan looks way too old
>>220115167I like how it's shot, but it has this finale vibe to it. It always felt wrong as the third entry in the Craig era.
>>220115167Skyfall is a miserable piece of shit.
>>220115167it's the third worst film from the worst bond
>>220115167>Not as good as No Time to Die>Not as good as Casino Royale It's one of the shittier Craig movies, let alone the entire franchise.
Retconning every previous villain into spectre ruined itWhy would Silva give a fuck about bonds adopted brothers motives
>>220115213fpbpshe gave me my first early boners as a kid. based ringo starr smashes her every night, i kneel
>>220115266>But Goldeneye or Casino still are the best10/10 opinion
The sequences in China and Macao were an amazing watch in a theatre.
>>220115230>>220115270
>>220115167It's shit>>220115230>Casino Royal It's the least shitty craigshit, but still bad
Connery: Tie between Goldfinger and ThunderballMoore: Tie between The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only Dalton: License To Kill Brosnan: Goldeneye. (Any other answer is pure cope) Craig: I don’t give a filthy nigger shit.
>>220115167I wish David Arnold had been kept as the composer for every film that came after Quantumhttps://youtu.be/HUY1E6HdxGU?si=opR0TF5wYzYFwI_Y&t=550
>>220115167>Is this really the best bond film of all time?
>>220115167No. It was a good movie, but a bad Bond movie, Casino Royale was a better movie and personally I wanted Bond to be revealed as a cover legend that gets reused on orphans, not scottish gentry.
>>220116373>good movie, but a bad Bond movieGood take>I wanted Bond to be revealed as a cover legend that gets reused on orphansShockingly bad take
>>220116214Connery: Dr No Moore: Live and let die Dalton: License To KillBrosnan: World is not enough Craig: quantum of solace I'm going to have to assume your a bond larper if you find a flaw in this.
>>220115167Fake Bond fans hate Skyfall. Whenever I meet a self-confessed Bond fan who "hates" Skyfall I just take a shit on their head and fuck them in the ass, HARD.
Goldeneye
It's normies idea of the best Bond ever, yes.
>>220115167Probably yes, followed by Casino Royale and Goldeneye. Connery Bond films are very dated and boomer coded. Rest of Brosnan films are too silly. Moore films are gay. Haven't seen the Dalton films. Spectre and Quantom sucked. NTTD was alright
>>220117969World is not enough is absolutely kino
>>220115167How do I into Bong? I watched Dr. No the other day and it was not what I expected at all
>>220118032Brosnan has so many great faces in his Bond era
I liked it but I wouldn't call it the best. It's weirdly comfy though.
>>220115167Yes.You see most Bond films have a decent plot, albeit formulaic, a few good action scenes in an exotic location, a creepy and cocky bad guy who somehow thinks he is better than old fashioned Britain or England and a fun sequence with Q and occasionally Moneypenny.Skyfall managed to get all of those elements perfectly balanced and a belting and memorable theme song. In all the years of Bond its a surprise how rare this happens. What elevates it more though is that you're not left thinking it would have been even better if something else had happened, or if they had added something; it manages to totally satisfy.
>>220118124>not what I expected at allMeaning?
>>220117948If you want your Bond to be a serious man of action then Dalton's definitely the one.
>>220118189I guess it was a lot more grounded and normal than I thought? I was expecting more things along the lines of the dragon tank but in the context of that movie alone it ended up being ridiculous
>>220115167you only live twice and it's not even close
>>220118286In the book Bond fights a giant squid and then moves on like that was completely normal
>>220118032That torture scene is great.I only recently found out that they used an actual garrotte, but modified it so the rod stopped just short of his neck.
>>220118286Did you want it to be more ridiculous? Because you can watch Diamonds Are Forever, Moonraker, and Die Another Day if you want high stakes pulpy fun, but if you want genuine grounded spy movies then you watch From Russia With Love, For Your Eyes Only, or The Living Daylights.
>>220118569I don't really want anything specific more than I do just finding out what the franchise is about. I have From Russia With Love and Goldfinger ready to be watched so I'll go through those at least, but I'm not sure if I'll ever find the time or the mental capacity to go through every single one of the movies.
>>220118569I’ve got a lot of things I want to get off my chest. For years, people told me From Russia with Love was one of the greatest spy films ever made. “Classic Bond.” “Essential viewing.” “A masterpiece of suspense.” And I sat there thinking maybe I was missing something… maybe there was hidden depth… maybe there was some grand espionage genius my simple mind couldn’t comprehend. But then I watched it.And do you know what I saw?I saw a man… walking between desks. That’s right. The sacred cow. The untouchable legend. The movie people whisper about like it was handed down from the gods themselves… is about a bloke in a suit strolling between office furniture. You people dress it up with words like atmosphere and intrigue. Intrigue? Walking between desks isn’t intrigue. It’s what happens when your manager says, “Quick chat in meeting room three.”And every time Bond takes another slow stride past a filing cabinet, the critics act like Mozart just hit a high note.“Look at the tension!”What tension? He’s navigating workplace layout! You want action? You want danger? I’ve had more suspense trying to find the printer code in a real office. And the worst part is, if this movie came out today, you same people praising it would bury it alive. You’d call it slow. You’d call it boring. You’d ask where the payoff was. But because it’s old, because it’s got a fancy title, because it’s wrapped in nostalgia, suddenly desk-walking becomes cinema.Well I’m not buying it anymore. From Russia with Love isn’t a spy thriller. It’s workplace cardio. And while everybody else keeps pretending the emperor has clothes, I’ll be the one guy honest enough to say it:Sometimes a classic… is just a man walking between desks. What kind of viewing is that? Certainly not a "view to a kill"
>>220115167What director is even capable of making a bond film fun again, will they ever try again? Taratino would have attempted it with an older bosnan, but they didn't want to loan him the rights. Yet they give it to Amazon?
>>220117881>World is Not Enough Like I said, pure cope. >Bond Larper Cool phrase, nigger. Did your Zoomer faggot brain think of that all on its own?? Kek
>>220115270Die Another Day certainly isn't the best Bond movie, but it's overhated. It's fun, and it's better than Skyfall.Best Bond movie is Goldeneye, btw.
>>220118892If you found From Russia With Love boring then Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy would probably put you into a coma.
>>220115167I think so yes
