Was it immoral to end Back To The Future like this?
>>

crispin glover? you mean the nazi rapist guy?
>>
>>220126070
hes from a different time
>>
>>220126059
probably

This ending is depressing. Every memory Marty has of his family never happened, but apparently it's okay, because he has a shitty product placement Toyota truck.
>>
>>220126059
I get his point but the movie shows that George lacked confidence and had interests in other things like writing but didn’t act on it. In this different future it’s believable he was more successful and they had more money. Not the reason why they’re happier though
>>
as a kid I remember seeing that he got that awesome black truck and the girl, it was like my dreams come true. Was a very comfy ending.

Marty didn't either. He was from a normal middle class family. They literally still live in the same house when they're "rich".
>>
>>220126059
Not necessarily because financial success isn't inherently worse than any other kind of success. But I think the fact they turned into the most generic 80s Yuppies was concerning. And also the fact that almost every Spielberg film revolves around getting money.
>>
>>220127358
He's a jew.
>>
>>220127489
the 80s were all about money and the USA being cutthroat and rich as fuck. Steven knew how to make a winning picture for the time.
>>
>>220126662
whatever, he's something like 16 in the movie, right? he has the rest of his lifetime to make new memories with his family except now they're rich so they can do whatever they want.
>>
>>220126059
in the logic of the cartoonish world of BTTF, where a DeLorean can be transformed into a time machine, it’s a happy ending. Crispin was basically projecting real world cynicism onto a fairytale
>>
>>220126966

Well, it's exercise, I guess.
>>
>>220127561
He gets in an accident and ends up crippled 15 minutes later if the 3rd film didn't happen. Those would be some great new memories.
>>
>>220127561
Plus his dad found his balls in high school and didn't grow up to be a loser. That's important from a personal and family pov. Success makes you a better person (if you're not a psycho)
>>
>>220127636
It's not a fairy tale. The message of every Hollywood movie is: CONSUME. The only reason why they wrote it like that is because Toyota paid for product placement. He was right.

kek

>>220127726
and how many additional scenes were they able to film because of the money fronted by Toyota? I don’t think you understand how the business operates. Toyota wanted their truck featured, and they wanted their movie made. yes, there is kike subversion in Hollywood; but this is one of the good ones.
>>
>>220128048
I don't think you understand that it made the movie shittier, which was Crispin's point.
>>
>>220128123
…and Crispin didn’t understand the movie, because it’s a fucking fairytale. It’s why he was fired.
>>
>>220126059
>haha that'll teach Biff, now he's merely a successful business owner instead of a supervisor at some company!
>>
>>220128247
>humbled through hard work
you’re right; that will teach biff!
>>
>>220126059
Yes. Marty's character arc for the next 2 movies is that he doesn't like to be called chicken. They could've easily changed it so that instead the problem with Marty is that he takes the wrong lesson from the end of the 1st movie -- he becomes too materialistic seeing how much better his life has become now with rich parents, and this is what leads to his car crash accident. But no, they didn't do that, so what's even the point of the ending in the first movie
>>
>>220128387
>>
>>220128352
He wasn't humbled, he's just pretending, his guard was let down when he sees the DeLorean fly off and we see the same old Biff, he doesn't change (as can you see from his future self which is still the "changed" version of himself when steals the almanac and goes back in time)
>>
>>220128247
imagine if this happened to Drumpft, we might have avoided our current timeline.
>>
>>220128387
It's all because the ending of the 1st movie with Doc coming back was supposed to be a joke but then they realized they need to write a sequel around that cliffhanger. So they just didn't even try for the next 2 movies to make them as good, they were more about special effects and quirky set pieces
>>
It didn't need that ending. The story is obvious, kid is unhappy, family is poor and full of losers, shown at a low point at the start of the movie, then through a series of unfortunate events nearly loses them all including his own life and suddenly appreciates what he's got and has to fight to save them. All you need is an uplifting ending where, even though they aren't successful, they have each other, then maybe show Biff miserable and living alone with no one to touch his dick.

This movie fucking sucks anyway, the real reason the ending is terrible is because Doc Brown shows up all MARTY LETS GO FUCK WITH THE TIMELINE AGAIN EVEN THOUGH YOU NEARLY JUST DIED KEK. Fucking retarded story with retarded characters.
>>
>>220126059
Yeah it was immoral because the previous versions of themselves didn't change or learn a lesson, they just didn't exist in the first place, some message
>>
>>220128561
i fucking love part 2.
>>
>>220127646
isn't his family still rich after the third movie? they didn't change the original timeline.
>>
>>220129248
they aren't even rich, they are just comfortably upper middle class instead of lower middle class/working class. also the mom stayed in shape instead of getting fat so it showed that being married to the new version of george was good for her.
