first movie was ok. The goblin mine section was boring, but the Gollum scene was good, and some of the orcs were not CGI, second and third one were nothing but CGI slop.

Watch the Maple Films fan edit. its excellent. I never even watched the 3rd movie because I didn't like the first one and fell asleep in the second one but the edit made is great. It takes out a lot of extraneous bullshit trying to keep it as close to the book as possible, and edited the color grading so it looked closer to how Lord of the Rings looked, and its like a 4 hour cut of all 3 movies combined, how it should have always been.
It's 10 years old now but I only watched it for the first time last year. I only wish there was a 4k version.

Wasn't the Gollum scene the first thing they shot? Feels like Peter poured all his energy there and then called it a day

You are getting it mixed up with LotR

I like watching this when I'm in the mood for lotr but not 7 and a half hours of lotr. I agree with this anon

It's still winning an Oscar via the mail in vote, it has just been delayed because of covid and administrative reasons.

It goes from a 4 to a 6.5/10, which is pretty great for a fan edit.

I still believe that the hobbit would have equalled lotr if it was condensed to two movies (which it was originally planned to be) third movie was literally all superfluous dog shit
>>
>>220133899
And you are a zoomer newfag with no taste. Jesus Christ, I can't believe I actually lived to see the day people unironically prefer The Hobbit trilogy. I miss the old /tv/.
>>
I don't mind goofy shit in my movie adaptation of a children's book. I do mind abhorrent use of soulless CGI though.

There are better ways to get attention, retard.
>>

That's zoomers' whole schtick; rooting through our garbage, and telling us that it's superior to the actually good shit because they have no cultural landmarks of their own.
