There's a bit of the noble savage trope going on and yes there is wish fulfillment on the part of Ryan but it's still a great show. Some really outstanding performances, especially by the fella that played his brother. Great supporting cast too. Some of the best naturalistic acting and dialogue I've seen in a long time.
