Maybe the first few episodes or first season are even decent. But there's no themes of substance and the writing always spirals until it's unwatchable. Like it only exists to trick people into thinking they're watching 00s HBO tier kino hoping they don't notice it's shit. Which is confusing - isn't it more expensive to invest into visual fidelity than to simply have good writing?

People would flock to it.Writers are stupid therefore the characters and setup needs to be stupid. A dumb hick like me can see this but professional writers can't.That said I guess its good enough to keep watching for now. I do want to see how it plays out. Maybe word will get out that the island is haunted and it will attract tourists giving the mayor guy a win until it backfires and people start dying or something.
