PICKLE RIIIIIIIICK wubalubadubdub motherfucker! Jokes aside, the show was fine. I thought it would be obnoxious due to its rep but it turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. I remember seeing discussions about how women writers ruined the show from season 3 onwards but I only started noticing the change from season 4 onwards. It only became pronounced from season 5. The show also got progressively more serious after season 4 but thankfully they didn't drag out "serious" arcs like Evil Morty and Rick Prime too much. The worst episode by far was the rise of the numericons. That was just dogshit. I also didn't like it when they get too meta about tropes. The episodes involving Storylord just felt lazy. They would lazily point out tropes and Rick would talk about how it's bad and also talk about how getting meta storytelling is also bad. As though being self-aware about going meta makes it any less boring. What else? Oh, I also enjoyed Jerry more than I thought I would. I wasn't expecting to like him more than Beth and Summer. Genuinely pathetic characters are hard to pull off without getting grating. Anyway, that's what I thought of it.

I thought the show has too few characters and too shitty worldbuilding unlike Futurama. All the drama of the later seasons felt so forced and fabricated. Like, what characters have we not coupled together with yet? At the same time, Jessica for some reason still remained a love interest. Later seasons were also way too over-produced and had too much cross-episode story

>Futurama
I was actually checking out Futurama after this but for some reason it feels too low energy after Rick and Morty. Maybe I should see it after giving some time.
>Jessica
They completely forgot about her during later seasons as well. I thought they should bring back planetina or something.

show died with future beth

You mean Space Beth? The lesbian angle came out of nowhere and went nowhere too.

if you are a zoomer you will miss a lot of futurama references (like to star trek TOS or twighlight zone) by default.

I am a millennial but I yeah I was never into star trek and twilight zone.

Space wasn't that bad.

The worst part was the meta shit. You are a funny animated show on adult swim, stop trying to do anything more. Its no secret the show is extremely reddit, but all in all, it wasn't a bad show.

Futurama has much better writing but you probably won't get it if it's new to you now. Very much a TV network show

Really hated in season 5ish when every episode was set on earth. I get they were happy to have keith david, but all the president episodes are such a drag. And don't get me started on metashit.

I didn't watch past season 3 (I think) it has its moments but I got bored of the premise. Rick's a genius but his flaws are his relationships with others and he's alcoholic, gets samey and trying to make Summer and Beth a main character doesn't work with it

It's a genuinely good show. Looking forward to S9.
