>Let Number 48 free from the Village after murdering a woman 3 episodes priorin the finale of the serieswhat the fuck was Patrick McGoohan thinking. Overall, from 5 to 13 and 16 episodes are kino tho
>>220151784He was absolutely making filler towards the end. He wanted to end it sooner, but they pressed him for more episodes.
>>220151784The Kid and Number 48 are two different characters. They hired the same actor because they were in a rush and presumably they got along well behind the scenes (not the only time it happened during the series by the way). I think it's a matter on record that McGoohan conceived the finale on a weekend LSD bender after being pressed to end the series on a deadline.
>>220151828>>220152176These two comments may seem contradictory, but I think they're both true. McGoohan didn't want to commit for a second season, and initially hadn't planned for a finale when he was finally pressed to do so.
>>220151828>>220152223They didn't have enough content for another run of 13 episodes, and at the end of the show they got months break and some actors and technicians weren't able, so they made up episodes before making up even more the finale McGoohan himself.
>Patrick McGoohan's daughter stood-in for Nadia Gray in the scene in which Number 6 and Number 8 pretend to get romantic in "The Chimes of Big Ben". McGoohan refused to do romantic scenes with actresses due to his Catholic beliefs. Having his daughter in the scene prevented it from getting too romantic.I think that looks even worse now... Also several characters seems to have clear homosexual tendencies
