It's more entertaining than the will ferrell movie. I never watched the 1990s reboot.

Phenomenal amount of worldbuilding for a low-budget kid's show.

>the Land of the Lost is a pitcher-plant pocket dimension that keeps trapping stuff from all over the universe
>one episode they find a crashed UFO and the alien pilot tries to kill them to prevent them from preventing HIM from destroying the dimension while trying to escape
>one episode the sleestaks figure out how to use the pylons to suspend the day/night cycle so they can hunt their snack moths that only come out at night, but they're not smart enough to realize they're fucking up the ecosystem by keeping it dark all the time
>first season ends with the humans discovering an alternate universe version of themselves trapped in suspension and voluntarily taking their place

It was also kino how the pakuni language was introduced a couple words per episode (iirc they had an actual child linguistic development specialist helping with this).

And of course, for kids who grew up before Jurassic Park, the stop-motion dinosaurs were genuinely terrifying.

Reboot series on Nickelodeon back in the 1990's was rad.

Land of the Lost is Lost in Space, The Lost World, and Lost all combined.

In 1985, Capra claimed that Cohn, whom he described as the "Jewish producer," trimmed the film simply so theaters could have more daily showings and increase the film's chance of turning a profit.

Yeah, it's actually really great for what it is. The 3rd season isn't as strong as the first 2 but it's decent. It's mostly written off as camp, which it is, but it's also really strong sci-fi with great world building and lore. A proper reboot would be kino. There's a lot you could do with that concept.>>220154463
