I watched five seasons for a cliffhanger?
It wasn't a cliffhanger, it just sort of felt like it because it was so emotionally unsatisfying
it's been a while. didn't they save the earth? so not really cliffhanger. there was supposed to be movie later but all in all everything ended fine and dandy

>>220159327I skipped out on seasons 4 and 5 when they originally aired because seasons 2 and 3 were so fucking lame with wannabe D'argo and O'Neill 2.0. Even back then it was clear it was the Rodney show, and everyone else had fuckall character development. And seriously every other planet was some stupid Ren-Faire shit. That being said, when I eventually got around to finishing the series years later I was shocked that the majority of my favorite eps were in the last 2 seasons. I really think it found its feet and if it had gotten to like 7 seasons like TNG it would easily have been in the upper tiers of the sci-fi pantheon.

>>220161234>>220161478I think it more has to do with Shanks throwing his hissy fit and leaving when the suits wouldn't let him be the big badass character he felt he could portray (spoiler, he couldn't). When that happened I think it spoiled the chemistry and overall fun atmosphere that they had going. The fact that Shanks came crawling back, after he realized playing second fiddle to RDA was the absolute best he was going to get, wasn't enough to make things right.
