I forgot how fucking funny Season 1 of the Sopranos is. I wish they would have stuck to it instead of getting so dark and surreal. Also it’s a very tight first season. DAE?
>>220162341season 2 is comfy too, ofc it's more serious and representative of the later seasons, but it's still very stupid.i like mikey palmice and his wife. also wish junior spent more time on the streets
my favorite part of sopranos is at the end when tony becomes a psychotic gambling addict
>>220162449god yes her ass im saving this for grok bbc gens
>>220162341its strange, breaking bad is the same way season 1 is funny as fuck but that humor kinda fades by season 2 and is completely gone by season 3
>>220162548We used to ban people like you. Instantly.
>>220162704what a cute way to sound out being powerless i guess
>>220162622Gale and the fly episode are both season 3 thoughbeit
>>220162341>>220162622Sopranos is hilarious the whole way through except maybe 6B but that was end game
that’s not what i heard…
>>220162704We never banned people for being Indian, what are you talking about?
>>220162780most underrated character. the artie focused episode where he cooks the rabbit was one of my favorites.
>>220162956>theyll cook what i give them
>>220162780even 6B has its moments although it's obviously a lot darker overall, Phil Leotardo and Little Carmine are straight up comedy characters. but yeah, I don't think the Sopranos stops being funny after season 1, it might even get funnier.
>>220162341To me it feels like the whole of season one is a pilot. I skip it on rewatches and start with s2e1
>>220163243Retard
>>220162341Stop spamming this trash
>>220163307Its our new policy, double your garbage back for unhappy customers
>>220162704>/tv/ had, at one point, stringent standards for post quality
>>220162341yeah it's got jokes, but it feels like an episode of the godfather for that first season. season 2's dialogue and deliveries are much more natural
Livia as comic relief instead of an antagonist
Season 1 feels amateur compared to the rest
>>220162889Darwin does that for us.
>>220162704What happened?
1>2>4>3>5>6b>6aThis is not negotiable
the whole series until season 6 is a comedy. season 1 just had a laughable budget because HBO wasn’t even profitable in 1998.
>>220162341Sorry but very stupid, unfounded take. It was funny from start to finish.Chris intervention was late season 4, Paulie going to the psychic/medium, late season 2Plenty examples. Artie, Paulie and Junior could be hilarious at any given time
>>220162341Pretty much towards the middle/end of season 6 it's like they suddenly remembered that they need to remind the audience (to an extensive degree) that everyone is a piece of shit. Something about those pre-9/11 episodes do have an entirely different feel as well.
>>220163909but it had a coherent story arc and purpose which makes it easily the best. It wasn't a narrative mess like 3 or 5, it didn't meander around with pointless bullshit like 6A, the only season that comes close is 2.
>>220165105Yeah really. The 90s were so comfy they didn't actually end until Sept 11 2001

>>220165105there's this brightly lit sitcom look about them. It's cosy.
>>220165105>Something about those pre-9/11 episodes do have an entirely different feel as well.people always say season 4 (2002) is the start of the dark stuff but that's bullshit. season 3 is the turning point, university if you want the exact point
Season 3, whateva happened der?
>>220164968>>220163234Season 6 is the funniest season of them all thanks to all the Vito fallout and Phil Leotardo and Fat Dom and AJ being a retard, the comedy is darker but it's absolutely hilarious
Season 1 feels more like a blatant Goodfellas parody, it's fun but Season 2 is when the show starts to have more of a unique identity
>>220162889Well we should
>>220166554Should be USA, UK, and OZ only here
>>220162449
>>220167534My smelly valentine.
>>220167534this thing thinks she can make money on onlyfans
>>220167987Without even showing anything, no less.
I watched the first three seasons a few months ago, and I enjoyed the show but I'm having trouble seeing a reason to keep watching. For such a lauded masterpiece of TV, it's weirdly... episodic? There are plot threads that persist throughout but they're pretty thin and sometimes progress entirely in the background. As an example, when Chris gets shot, that's a big event and they treat it appropriately... then the next time we see Chris he's all healed up and back at the strip club. "Hey, Chrissy!" and it's like it never happened.Or how about when Melfi got raped? I expected that to be like, a huge thing for her but it just kind of... goes nowhere.Does it keep going like that? It sort of feels like the show's afraid to truly commit to anything.
>>220165834That’s exactly right and when that girl gets killed it’s obvious that it affects Tony because it sticks with him from that point on and gets referenced multiple times.
>>220168076it has its own rhythm to say the least
>>2201626226 feet under had dead dad (best scenes) and funeral related joke ads only in s1 dad had couple scenes more sprinkled throughout the entire series but it was just a couple and they were more serious
>>220168076if you weren't hooked by s1e6 then it isn't for you
>>220163243B-b-based
>>220168192I liked six feet under but it became a fucking slog by the end. The first season had a lot more comedy. Watching it after Nate’s AVM becomes an issue was rough.
>>220166914no, he's saying we should ban indians, not be an indian-only site.
>>220168076that's part of what makes it so good. every episode is a self contained story with a beginning, middle and end. it's brilliant. there are season wide arcs and character development, but part of its greatness is you can watch almost any episode in a vaccum and be satisfied.
It's slightly annoying how every season they had some long lost relative or friend or enforcer who had been in jail forever suddenly show up randomly or get released. But never mentioned before that point.
>>220170714If we want to be generous and give the writers the benefit of the doubt, we could say it's on purpose, implying people forget you the minute you go in.At the welcoming party for Blundetto, Bobby Bacala's son says he has never heard of him.
>>220162622Nah. It was always a goofy live action cartoon for adults.>two face gus>i am le one who knocks>bbbb-bonfire>machine gun in trunk killing nazis>magnets bitch>any scene with le 4d chessmaster gus>it's not le meth>the two assassin brothers
>>220168076Season 2 resets all the progress made against Tony, only to make him the king of the world at the end of the season. I took it as a 'we are going to make Tony survive every problem until we want, because we are making fat amounts of money with the show' message, I guess I stopped believing in the show. The Chris thing was the beginning of the end, Chris lackeys are portrayed to be dumb, but so dumb to shoot Chris only because he hit Adriana, and without the permission of Richie?, feels like the writers needed something to happen, no matter how dumb it may look. To me, S3 episode 2 was an appropiate moment to stop watching.
Why do the Sopranos threads reveal so many midwits, the show isn't even that hard to understand
