What is the absolute worst adaptation you have ever seen? Which adaptation do you wish could be done again by a smarter writer's room with fewer writers? Pic related, I was amazed at how bad this was, I could only stomach one episode. They had all of Discworld to adapt and they intentionally chose to ditch the fantasy setting as much as possible and to chase an urban punk aesthetic that was out of date 40 years ago.

Beat me to it
Also Halo tv show was fucking horrible

That was particularly bad because they could have made it for cheap in any number of ways and if they had done it for cheap, they would have had endless good material to make comfy tv shows with

lmao I also opened the thread for this
it really had to be the blunder of the century because even a mediocre Dark Tower adaptation would have been guaranteed that Twilight/Hunger Games tier "runs for a decade, makes several billion dollars" franchise

Amazon is supposed to be making a 5 season tv adaptation with 2 movies of the Dark Tower. No clue if it will be good, Amazon also made that atrocious Wheel of Time adaptation. It was disappointing to see the writers not understand the Western or Eastern influences within the story and how they randomly added gay sex scenes and cast ugly women to play babes.

it was The Boys before The Boys, and it sucked ass

I remember liking the comic, never watched the show. It's interesting watching all the dramatic takes on superheroes that were just too early to make fun of Marvel, like Unbreakable.

It's particularly egregious because the first book is a self-contained story that serves as a perfect introduction to the characters and they completely ignored it in favor of a generic urban fantasy story.

>No clue if it will be good
It won't be.
