Been watching those "1980s Dark Fantasy" AI parodies and now I wanna watch some actual kinos with the aesthetic. What are the best older fantasy films? Already seen Excalibur, Return to Oz, Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth.

The Sword and the Sorcerer is not a B movie, it's more like a C movie, or a D movie, but it's still a good time, and Lee Horsley is awesome.
>>
These aren’t all 1:1 but are largely Sword and Sorcery adjacent, varying levels of quality and darkness:
Excalibur
The 13th Warrior
The Sword and the Sorcerer
Conquest
She
Krull
Fire and Ice
Ladyhawke
Legend
Willow
Barbarian Queen
Ator: The Fighting Eagle
Hawk the Slayer
Yor
Beastmaster
Deathstalker
Legend
Solomon Kane
Black Death
Season of the Witch
Your Highness

But also, sort your shit out if you’ve just been sat watching AI fake 80’s movie compilations. That’s sad behaviour, Anon.

Willow. Don't watch the show. I honestly didn't totally hate it but it will never get a proper conclusion. It was however hated and Disney went so far as to remove it from Disney+. I think wrote it off for tax purposes or something.

maybe somebody can help me out with the identification of an 80's kids fantasy movie. i think it was foreign. mexico or spain or somethin. not sure. had to have been dubbed to English. as i recall vaguely, there were scenes centered around a soda drink, probably coca cola. perhaps pepsi. so the movie was promoting the drink, and one of the kids is feeding coca cola to some friendly fantasy creature. cant really describe what else i vaguely remember. i'd most likely recognize the movie if i saw scenes again

the funny thing is, the retard that is OP supposedly could just look up some of them and watch the most well regarded ones first and then work himself down. and even the good ones are quite numerous, so he would sit through hours upon hours before having to go into more obscure and maybe even foreign film territory. i wonder how people like OP are so helpless in this digital age, with even shitty algorythms dictating their lives but seemingly unable to make good use of them. like a toddler almost. and i thought i was a lost cause, but future generations will be off worse and worse till we as humanity will simple cease to exist, literally devolve.

not gonna lie I like the texture that AI gaves to those DF videos, the texture of a dream or a very vivid imagination.
I don't think "real" recorded videos can achieve that atmosphere.
for the same reason I don't think you can use AI to make a whole movie because the atmosphere or texture depends upon its umprompted unscripted nature, it works because it's a dream.
>>
>>220178200
watch it with the tangerine dreams soundtrack also... you are missing out the story is non existent but the dream like atmosphere is second to none

nta, and I get your point but look, the lightning strike scene is fantasy enough ok.

Anyway OP, I think you should probably check out Flight of Dragons and The Last Unicorn. They're somewhat aimed at kids (though bristling with adult themes and poignancy) but you're definitely gonna get your fix aesthetically. Also great voice acting in both of 'em.

>>
>>220183656
It's surrealist fantasy-- there are witches, vampires and so on. But I get what you mean inthe sense that it's one of the movies on my list that do not follow the hero's journey narrative that we usually associate with the genre

Anyway, nobody has mentioned Black Cauldron yet. There's also an argument for The Secret of Nimh being 80s dark fantasy.
