This is one of the storylines that really suffers from the show dropping the whole 'corporate horror' angle from the comics and earlier seasons.

See it makes sense that Vought would just make it clear to her that if she tries to release a cheap cancer cure they'll kill her, and that they have supes that can kill her if they decide to do that. And it makes sense if she just refused to give them the cure for their own profit after her grandma dies. And they were happy enough keeping her on ice in case they needed her for something else in the future.

For whatever reason they always want to make the villainy into a personal thing with the supes or certain corrupt normies in the business or government, and they lean away from the system itself being fucked.

I feel like American hands had to have typed this, because I cannot imagine any conceivable explanation for asking a question like this, other than religiously avoiding any interraction with medicine out of fear of bankruptcy.
Knowing how to cure something is about as close to being able to enact the cure on your own, as having access to the detailed schematics of multiple military vehicles thanks to video game autists leaking them on gaming sites to win arguments is to you being able to build one in your garage.

There has to be a more substantial Vought behind Stillwell to sell it. In the comics Stillwell's thing was that he was a consumate suit, a corporate puppet. He was 'invincible' because even if he's killed there are a hundred other guys just like him waiting on that job and they'll be just as bad/good at it as he is.
