>The original 1954 film follows a colony of ants mutated by nuclear tests into giant man-eating monsters as they wreak havoc in the New Mexico desert while local authorities attempt to stop them. The remake will be the feature film debut of acclaimed composer Michael Giacchino, who previously helmed Marvel Studios’ Halloween special “Werewolf By Night” in 2022.

Cool, another shitty movie no one will watch. Hollywood is dead.

Will anyone ever be allowed to make a movie in the old fashioned way? I mean can you imagine a modern movie with a 50s/60s aesthetic? Even a 90s aesthetic? I'm not talking about fashion or cars or whatever. I mean the acting style, the lighting style, the directing style, the editing style, hell even the casting style, etc.? Everyone complains about how modern movies are shit and older movies are better. Not just film buffs, literally everyone. Nobody likes modern movies and nobody is watching them. So why are studios so afraid to make movies like they used to if that's what literally everyone is asking for?

I'm all for pushing the boundaries to get a new aesthetic, but that doesn't seem to be happening either, at least not in any direction people like. It's just all shit now.

Cool it with the antisemetic remarks.

This is as stupid as a Forbidden Planet remake. THEM is only notable for being a cheesy B movie from the 50s, you literally cannot remake in any way and keep the original spirit.
The name recognition isn't even worth it, anyone who knows what this is will keep away.

Him, his black wife and snarky mixed race kid face off against the racist gay hating locals (with giant ants).
cant wait

I hope it's like a sci-fi action movie and not some kind of gory horror film slop

Can hollywood niggas really not come up with new shit?

John Carpenter's The Thing is a remake of a cheesy B movie from the 50s, so I'm not automatically against the idea. But this is going to suck for sure.

Just what I asked for.

I like Giachinos music but this is a career killer for Glen if he actually does it

They see that Amazon's Fallout is making money, regardless of quality.

I thought Aliens was basically this movie.

In the desert sands where they test the bombs
Came these man-made monsters
They'll try to breed, they'll fly by night
We must destroy these nest of the mutant ants
These man-made monsters
Their bodies burn, a gruesome sight
Beware of them
Beware of them

They are both adapted from the same novel, but otherwise the two movies are nothing alike

it's gonna be in the style of MEG that giant shark movie and not a horror like the bug scene from peter jacksons king kong, i guarantee it
on a side note, ants are invading my home this year and it's making me insane
they're everywhere so this flick couldnt have been announced at a better time

Sounds like it will be too reliant on jeet cgi to be good

>John Carpenter's The Thing is a remake
Because like the Blob it was a concept that could be updated and begged to be updated.
Nothing good can come out of a Them remake

yeah, but for a shitty series that get lucky because the stars are aligned, there are 100 other that bomb because shit is shit

I'd like to see 1950's inspired pulp scifi films or shows set in a fictional Fallout-like world, but somehow I think these film execs aren't aware that the only thing carrying the Fallout show is the popularity of the games.
They probably just think "oh 1950's style B-movies are in, let's make one of those" and then they wonder why it flops.
