He kills Terror, which enrages Butcher, who begins to slowly rip out his organs while Deep screams for Homelander’s help.-The Gen V members show up to help the main team. Ryan is there too.-Homelander discovers that his mother is Stormfront and starts having hallucinations about her.-The final battle takes place at the White House. Homelander arrives with an army of superheroes.-Sister Sage reveals that her power isn’t intelligence; her power was to see glimpses of the future, but the flaw was that she couldn’t know exactly what was going to happen or when.-Homelander asks her what exactly is going to happen. Sage replies that the only thing she knows is that there will be a massive explosion. Homelander no longer needs her, so he kills her by ripping out her brain.-Harper from Gen V manages to copy Soldier Boy’s power, but since she doesn’t know how to use the radioactive beam, she ends up killing herself. However, she manages to strip Soldier Boy of his powers, so Butcher ends up killing him.-All the characters start attacking Homelander at the same time, leaving him weakened. Kessler looks at Butcher and says there’s only one way to end this. So Butcher grabs Homelander with his tentacles and tells Ryan to use the laser beam one last time, ending up killing them both.-Hughie and Butcher speak for the last time, and Hughie apologizes to him for everything. Butcher asks him as his final wish to take care of Ryan, and finally dies.-A year passes. Starlight and Hughie are in the park eating with Ryan; some people look at them fearfully. Vought still exists, but now as a telecommunications company, and superheroes still exist, but they’re hiding from the public eye after everything that happened.

I only ever read the comic, which wasn't anything amazing, but I really liked the ending where Butcher starts killing all The Boys, leading to that poignant final conversation between Hughie and Butcher in the penultimate issue. And of course the show doesn't even attempt to do any of that, instead having some epic final confrontation and heroic sacrifice just like the shit it's supposed to be satirizing.
