I can be empathic with how strict the social codes in the 60's were and how constraining they could be in a rapidly changing world. Sure, minorities are portrayed as victims but that is of minor importance compared to the psychological drama that basically every character goes through, men or otherwise. The series always struck me as a fair description of social problems without being too critic or too apologetic about anything. Though I can agree that jews seem to be forcefully inserted in the story way more often than it should. I think literally every season has a jewish subplot that doesn't really add much to the story.
