This is what I never understood about Tron Legacy...

Okay, Kevin Flynn has been inside that computer in the arcade for 20 years, right? So in 20 years, the electricity bill was being paid for? By who? In 20 years, not a single power outtage has ever happened? In 20 years, that fucking old ass server's hard drive has never failed?

Seriously?!
>>
cosplay sex is hot
>>
>>220181228
Was the arcade plugged in for 20 years straight?
>>
>>220181228
Autopay on the electric bill and one of those oldschool UPSes that's the size of three refrigerators.
>>
>>220181250
Sam had to flip a switch to turn on power for the machines, but the building obviously has power, cause the server was still running when he reached kevin's office.

And the screen shows it has an uptime of 20 years. So it's been running uninterrupted for 20 years.
>>
>>220181228
> stock dividends go to bank account.
> electric bill and rent autopay from bank account.

it's not that complicated anon
>>
>>220181228
He wasn't inside the computer. The computer acted as a "doorway" to a *digital* world that he created. Once you're inside, the computer's power status is irrelevant. Or extremely relevant if you want to leave. But the world doesn't cease to exist if the power goes off.
>>
>>220181228
Kevin Flynn was a billionaire. His server and computer room had a dedicated power line installed.

I'm sure he probably paid upfront for years, or found a way to make sure power doesn't go out. Like solar panels, batteries, etc.
>>
>>220181326
>>220181357
They didn't have autopay in 1983.
>>
>>220181405
Okay... what if a hurricane came through, or something caught on fire and destroyed the goddamn place? What if a rat got into the building and started chewing on some wires? These things never happen? In 20 years?

And how the fuck is the network for those pagers still running? You remember Alan got that page from CLU pretending to be Flynn? I remember when Verizon retired the 3G network and my ass had to buy a new phone cause my old ass flip phone wasn't gonna work with the new 4G LTE network.
>>
>>220181234
I was too lazy to image search for a tron pic so I just selected the closest I could find from my saved images folder kek
>>
>>220181534
Alan and Clu were keeping things going. Clu could literally reach the real world by hacking his own
>>
>>220181534
20 years isn't that long anonie. 20 years ago was 2006.
>>
>>220181444
wow how old are you anon? also, Flynn disappeared on 11/3/1989, not 1983. I'm sure a tech genius like Flynn could have worked out an autopay system if it wasn't already invented
>>
>>220181534
pagers work on the EDGE network, which will always be around for legacy systems
>>
>>220181600
The movie came out in 2010. It's set in 2010. 20 years ago from then was 1990. A lot of fucking shit in the tech world changed during that time.
>>
He probably had utilities for the arcade paid by his billion dollar company, so it's just a line on a spreadsheet getting processed by accounting every month.
>>
>>220181668
The fuck?
>>
ALAN GIVES THE KEYS TO THE KID. HE SAYS HE'S BEEN PAYING THE POWER WATCHING FOR SIGNS OF HIS FATHER YOU UTTER RETARDS
>>
>>220181647
You can't have autopay without a smartphone, boomer.
>>
>>220181706
Hospitals legally can't have their power shut off. If they designated a hospital power feed to the arcade, it really would run until demolished. Boise has haunted hospitals a decade old with full power still.
>>
>>220181740
what a retarded take. you seriously think autopay relies on a smart phone?
>>
>>220181780
Credit Cards have been around since like the late '70s. Autopay existed in some form.

>>
>>220181720
my bad i meant FLEX. still in use for legacy systems like EMS and nuclear facilities & stuff. will always be around
>>
>A building without any power has no alarms or fire suppression systems and is actually very dangerous. They wont typically have emergency generators ready because they take constant service and care. Someone still owns the building and is paying those utilities until they sell or bulldoze it.
>>
>>220181704
for consumers yeah
>>
>>220181807
idk what that has to do with smartphones but it sounds like we agree that smartphones aren't a necessary component of the autopay system, in which case >> 220181740 is still retarded
>>
>>220181889
Reoccurring payments and credit cards have existed for at least decades, which spans the timeline we are discussing. Kevin never died so his bank account wass probably active the whole time.
>>
Cannot comprehend how s man can be gay when women have that form

>Sam had to flip a switch to turn on power for the machines, but the building obviously has power, cause the server was still running when he reached kevin's office.
So the machines were on sleep mode
>>
>>220182957
No, just, flynn's office has the switch for power on, but the upstairs area where the arcade games were had their individual switches off.
>>
>>220181534
>These things never happen? In 20 years?
They didn't.
It's an amazing story, isn't it?
>>
>>220183155
Well, not as amazing as your mom.
>>
Now that Quora is real, does she poo and pee? And get periods?

Automatic draft has been around forever. We used to do it by paper, or we called and talked to american people.
>>

>we called and talked to american people
gross how awful
>>
>>220185190
Here's a better question... did Sam and Kevin have to poop and pee after eating that digital food they were eating at Kevin's mountain cave home?

I think you might be a genuine fucking retard because there are plenty of websites that let you set up auto pay using a normal computer. Fucking idiot.

Also if the dude is a billionaire he can literally just put his money into a trust and hire an accountanting firm to make sure his bills get paid forever no matter what

Brother, the movie is about a man inside of a computer. Your suspension of disbelief stops at consistent power availability in this science fiction universe?

>Your suspension of disbelief stops at consistent power availability in this science fiction universe?
Yes, because I am a nigger and I am nitpicking this fabulous piece of techno cinema and I wanted to something constructive with my time instead of watching porn.
