Are you ready for werewolf? I for one am very excited for werwulf, since I am a big fan of wira-wulfaz folklore. Are you looking forward to wazi-wulfaz? Coming out December 25th, úlfheðnar. The movie ᛚᚠᚺᛖᚦᚾᚨᚱ,coming to a cinema near you.

Van Helsing was pretty good

Eggers is a homosexual
>>
>>220183829
Nosferatu was a massive disappointment.
>>
>>220183829
Werewolves are inherently cool so I'll check it out.
Eggman is on thin ice though, The Northman was weirdly low-energy outside of a few cool scenes and Nosferatu was just a string of I'M LE ACTING! moments
>>
I'm looking forward to see how they make Willem Defoe fit in with medieval England.
>>
>>220183829
Don't care until they show the design. If it's good maybe I'll watch it.

really? I saw it in theatres with a friend's at my suggestion and was embarrassed to make them sit through most of nos, there were a few cool scenes and shit but majority of the movie left a bad taste in my mouth for his future movies
>>
That's right. Did you know Britain (had) WOLVES?
>>
>>220185847
Are you saying there...were...wulves...?
>>
Nosferatu was fine. My problem was that I'd watched Herzog's Nozzie shortly before seeing Eggers', and Herzog's is just better.
>b-but Kinski raped his daughter
Yes, and that adds an authentic layer of predatory creepiness to the performance.
>>
>>220185960
Yes, there were wulfaz.
>>
>>220183829
Can't wait for another movie without color
>>
>>220183829
nosferatu was dogshit and i am no longer willing to defend eggers
>>
>>220183829
Noseferatu was kino from the start through Orlok's castle, that was worth the price of admission alone, even if the rest of the movie was mediocre. If Werwulf just ends up being that it'll still be worth a watch.
>>
I'm sure the discourse around this will be completely organic

How will the big beefy english dude become a werewolf? Satanic witches? Some old guy in the woods who practices old germanic/celtic pagan magic? Just some random wolf? Roman bullshittery?
>>
>>220183829
Yes. I trust Eggers.
>>
>>220187095
the werewolf is only on screen for like 20 seconds
>>
The Witch is still Eggers' best project and his movies keep getting progressively worse. I actually listened to the DVD commentary for the Witch and I get the sense he doesn't understand what actually makes a good movie. He has this obsessive hyperfocus on autistic details which was tempered by budgetary concerns on the Witch, but with his subsequent success he's allowed to indulge into this retard fixation and his movies suffer for it.

Is it a sequel to Nosferatu or is it something totally separate with an identical cast? I'm confused because Lil-Rose Depp's character fucking died.

i would assume a random attack so he remains ignorant of the coming changes

Werewolves are never my thing. Either the character morphs into an actual wolf which is just silly or they turn into a weirdo dog-man usually complete with body horror which usually never looks good.

I love werewolves but I hate how theres barely any movies about them. If you want werewolves you always have to watch a vampire movie where they fight werewolves
>>
>>220183829
Yes.
Nosfetstu was uber gothic kino. Im expecting something similar with this. Some brutal tragedy of a man cursed to be a wolf or something. But knowing eggers he'll probably have a cool angle on it.
Might be the only thing I see in theaters this year.

Keep vampires away from werewolves and vice versa. Vampires belong in Vampire movies. Werewolves belong in werewolf movies.

I watched that like 3 times to try to like it and I just couldn't. Its boring. Sure I looks nice and the historical accuracy is cool and the ending is great. (Eggers is unbelievably good and ending his films)
Lighthouse is my favorite of his closely followed or tied with nosferatu.

came here for this, thank you!

Wasn't he supposed to be doing a Knight movie? Doing gothic horror over and over is starting to look a bit hacky

he'll name it Tha Horsemón and set it in scotland

I look forward to this movie, I just hope it's not too frightening. I went to watch nosferatu in theaters and I loved it but in the first act as nicolas hoult was skulking around the nosferatu castle there were some scenes and sounds that i almost found too scary that i thought about leaving the theater but i persisted and i'm glad i did

>>

>>
>>220189143
compared to what though? most new movies are so fucking bad that whatever eggers is doing is amazing by comparison
>>
>>220189235
exactly. even though nosferatu wasnt amazing to me i'm still supporting his movies on the big screen
>>
>>220187450
Breathnach means "Welshman" in Irish. As a surname it's usually Anglicized as "Walsh"
>>
>>220189436
Where does that come from. I know Irishmen adopted Welsh (and Roman) names when they emigrated to Wales after the fall of the Roman Empire.
>>
>>220189235
>most new movies are so fucking bad that whatever eggers is doing is amazing by comparison
sure, but that is not enough for me to call them good or even decent. ten times better than an utter shit is merely a slightly less offensive piece of shit. If you want to watch actually worthwhile films then this century has barely anything to offer.
>>
He botched Norfman with his reddisims and blue filter, but Nosferatu was well done.
>>
>>220183829

Considering Nosferatu was shit, no, i am not exited in the least. I could have accepted it being inferior to Coppola´s Dracula because you know, Coppola is a legit master of the craft but this was not even Last voyage of the Demeter tier.

I guess this generation of film makers is just disappointing. Villeneuve is also like that. Decent but just a far cry from Scott and Lynch. Maybe these guys may have thrived had they not put themselves in direct comparison to the old masters but as it stands they are not even poor imitations.
>>
>>220189937
If you legitimately think Nosferatu "was shit" then I dont know what you would have wanted

No werewolf in this, its going to be one of those "humans are le real beasts" movies.
Eggers is a hack.
>>
>>220187213
>The Witch is still Eggers' best project
Agreed.
>and his movies keep getting progressively worse.
How though? Northman is easily his worst. No way is it better than Nosferatu or Werwulf. Not a chance. Northman was such unbelievable garbage.
>>
>>220190203
Dunno about that one. Orlok was a full on supernatural sorcerer and vampyre. I doubt he'll have an issue showing a werewolf.
>>
>>220183966
Northman was great except for the BOGGED, Nosferatu was cringe and forgettable and mostly appealed to the foid audience.
>>
>>220183829
I like all of his films so far, so yes.
>>
I cannot believe this thing you are telling me! Who is to be playing Paul? And most importantly who is to be playing Sam? The Keeper!
>>
>>220190451
>No way is it better than Nosferatu or Werwulf. Not a chance. Northman was such unbelievable garbage.
Why? I'd say Lighthouse and the VVitch are both good and in the same category of film. The Northman tries to be an epic like Gladiator or Troy and in comparison to those it's in a distant 3rd place. It's good for the 2020s. Nosferatu was strange. It was at its strongest when Thomas was at his castle. When the heroine baby was on screen it was very hard to stay immersed. Far more egregious than bogged Anya or Kidman.
>>
>>220189613
I couldn't care less about the color filter, it was killing the momentum after showing an epic viking battle when he decided to become a meek slave for 2/3rds of the movie
>>
Based Eggers doing the Universal Monster Universe on his own.

Hope he does Phantom of the Opera next
