The Witch is still Eggers' best project and his movies keep getting progressively worse. I actually listened to the DVD commentary for the Witch and I get the sense he doesn't understand what actually makes a good movie. He has this obsessive hyperfocus on autistic details which was tempered by budgetary concerns on the Witch, but with his subsequent success he's allowed to indulge into this retard fixation and his movies suffer for it.

I went to watch nosferatu in theaters and I loved it but in the first act as nicolas hoult was skulking around the nosferatu castle there were some scenes and sounds that i almost found too scary that i thought about leaving the theater but i persisted and i'm glad i did
