Can you ever forgive yourself after doing something like that

No, because I wouldn't that, even hypothetically, it's so wrong. Fortunately, that movie ends and a new movie about some kids starts halfway through that is slightly better.

the second movie is redeemed only by that opening scene, the music and some of the attention they made to the sets.

To do what? To realise the runaway kid is a threat and tell him to go away? To realise they need to evacuate the farmhouse ASAP? To shut up so the infected might walk past the village peacefully?

That is not big enough. This is a park. 99% of English forests are parks with pedestrian paths that connect to major roads. This is a no go area. I will be killed in my sleep by fucking infected joggers and cyclists.
>>
Its unfortunate that they killed off this character since he had the instincts to survive at all costs.
His wife tried to protect the kid that led the infected to their hideout, and she expected her husband to die alongside her.
>>
>>220184148
I forget if that woman is like his wife or whatever. So if that's his wife and kid in the beginning of the movie then yeah you shouldn't have ran away and you should have just died with the shit. Dying is an optimal but I don't want to live in a world where the woman that I love and my child that I created with that woman die and I Wait a minute. Doesn't he end up killing his wife like she's immune or something like that and like he kisses her and makes out with her but because she has the disease he gets enraged and then so I haven't watched this movie in like 20 years. Fuck that bitch and that kid. They're not related to him what I'm supposed to fucking die for a bunch of people. I just met her. Took care of fuck that shit. I always live. I live so my family can live and the only person that's going to take them away for me is apparently me in this situation. It's been awhile since I seen this movie and none of you are going to respond or read to this at all. So I'm going to just finish off by saying nigger pickles
>>
>>220185302
This. So. Much. This.
>>
>>220185495
No wait a minute that reminds me that was his wife in the beginning of the movie. She just somehow doesn't die which equally makes less sense because the fucking rage zombies didn't just like beat the shit out of her over and over again. She's in a house full of rage zombies and they're just like nah. She's good, she's one of us

>>
>>220185408
Not if you build a treehouse, nigger. And that's not a park, it's literally a random forest I found on google maps.

The infected will migrate to where the uninfected are, there isn't going to be random zombies in a random forest.

And you only need to be up there for like a month and they'll all starve to death.
>>
this is weird because in 28 days later they say that the british government made false reports that the infection had spread to france and america to make people believe the whole world had ended but in 28 weeks the wife is thankful the children were on a school holiday to spain when the infection took hold

If there were two train tracks, and on one track a train was rushing towards you and a thousand other people, and on the other track, no train, and no danger, would you jump in front of the train in the hopes that if enough people also jumped in front, everyone would be able to stop it together? Or would you just stand on the side with no train because theres no reason to jump in front of it in the first place?
>>
>>220185495
Wasn’t his kid you dumb fucker, literally some rando kid they let in despite the fact as he was begging to be let in said he was escaping from the zombies. So guess what zombies appear and break in.
>>
>>220185671
I'm not talking about watching the goddamn movie and eating mushrooms. I'm talking about eating some shrooms smoking some weed watching some 2 hour kaleidoscopes of colors videos on YouTube while listening to all sorts of music, but I can tell you right now that Don abandons Alice just sounds so much better on mushrooms than it sounds already. See when it comes to listening to music without mushrooms or LSD. It's like you're only getting 75% to 80% of music and the rest of it's just locked away hidden only to be heard when tripping balls.
Dead reckoning from smoking aces which is the song that plays at the absolute climax of the movie right before it goes to credits is another instrumental musical score from a movie. That sounds so fucking beautiful on mushrooms
>>
>>220185779
I told you it was like 20 years since I last seen the goddamn thing. I only watched the movie once in my basement which means that it's been a little under fucking 20 years because it came out in what 2008 or 9. Either way, I watched it once. That's it.
Here's what I remember from 28 Weeks later the entirety of the beginning of the movie. This dude making out with his wife and then turning into a rage monster and then killing her and then people with a helicopter chopping up bits and pieces of people. Also, there were some children and the military were being cunts. That's all I remember from this movie. I watched it once. Go fuck yourself the amount of weed alcohol mushrooms LSD that I have ingested since the year 2007 is ridiculous

Imagine if he stayed and fought to protect her instead, only to end up dying and then when she manages to survive and later finds out that she's immune and that her husband died for nothing, how would that make her feel you think?

>I'm immune and would've survived on my own. My husband threw away his life trying to protect me, instead of running away to save himself so that we could reunite later.

Get in a boat designed for costal cruising as well as canal cruising and head for the sea.
Sure, you might have to go through the City of London, but no infected is going to jump into the Thames and somehow get on your boat. They would drown and/or die from the impact.

You could get shot by some guys who think they can steal your boat somehow. An infected could make the long jump somehow, or their underwater thashing could let them propel themselves toward your boat, or they could just walk at the bottom and jump when they close enough. Even if they miss, they might fuck up the boat somehow or their blood cold reach you slmehow. Staying put just seems like the smart choice until things die down.

>>
IIRC the wife does something super fucking dumb which puts her in that position to begin with, instead of following the hubby and escaping.
Also, it's easy to sit here and call him a coward for not making a split second decision to essentially commit to certain death at the hands of terrifying, rage zombies but you don't know what decision you'd make either until they're screaming up the fucking stairs trying to rip you to shreds.
Loooot o' fucking keyboard altruist heroes out here today.
>>
>>220188305

There we have it. So the people branding him a coward are saying that, in that exact same position, without hesitation, they'd launch themselves into a room full of raging infected and to certain death even though the wife and child are already basically guaranteed to be dead.
Fuuuuck off everyone talking such utter nonsense. You'd shit your fucking knickers and then you'd be out that fucking window in a split second you wouldn't even stop to think about it.

Yes, because staying would have just gotten him killed along with them. It's like people forget that his kids are alive and he reunites with them again after the time skip. If he had died, they'd have had no one. What I can't forgive is the portrayed U.S. military's utter lack of security given the situation. How the fuck does a random janitor have access to every room like that, and why was no one posted outside the room of the only person ever found to have been effectively immune to the virus? Retarded.
>>
>>220184329
I reflexively picked the blue. But when I asked my wife, she said she'd pick the red. Her rationale was that we have small children and she can't afford to risk dying and leaving them alone if all the third worlders and shitty people in the world pick red. Moreover, she would tell our children to pick red because there was no sense in gambling their lives and as their parents our first responsibility was to safeguard their lives.

Think I'd still pick blue, but the red rationale is a bit less selfish than I thought.

right the "dilemma" is that if enough people trust eachother to be "good" and press blue - thereby risking death to save more people overall - then more lives are saved

but red has no drawbacks aside from knowing you participated in it, but in this hypothetical everyone on earth is being forced to choose so it doesn't really work as a moral dilemma

the kid was on the other side of the room trapped and she went to the kid, he was going towards the window
she went out of her way to save the kid while zombies were already pouring INTO the room, there was no way to help her and the kid
she fucked up trying to save someone when there wasn't enough time and he chose to run instead of going down with her

I think most people would do the same
>>
>>220202551
You wouldn't do anything. These events don't really take place where reality melds into two options. If it did, the entity choosing wouldn't really be you.
>>
>>220194464
Bludgeoning the dog in one hit is the only real option. 50/50 that there was even an implement around appropriate for that to begin with.
>>
>>220202594
the dog wouldn't have attacked in the first place if anon had enough test to do that. dogs aren't retarded
>>
>>220194464
If you had intervened, you would have been mauled along with your friend, maybe fatally.
You did the right thing by realizing that a BB gun and your scrawny ass wasn't going to be a match for the pitbull and going to call for actual help, even if it resulted in your friend being injured. You actually saved his life by making a difficult decision.

Objectively, that's the truth. You did the right thing.

I would press the blue button, and if I survive, I'll go in a systematic hunt killing people that pressed the red button.
When i express this option the red shitters always ALWAYS shit their pant with "noooo you can't do thaaat"

Probably because the hypothetical specifically states that the button-pressing is private, and nobody will ever know who pressed what button

I think people are used to reading things like these where the cooperative option makes the most sense and is the most beneficial, while in this case the blue button is just a suicide button

Annoyed me that Spike is basically non existant in Bone Temple. I liked the kid in the part 1, he did a good fish out of water role. They should have focused on him traversing around with the Jimmies longer.

rookie mistake. Should have brought your fishing gear. Yea I mean all 6 rods per-rigged and your tackle box.
>>
>>220204088
In the movie they just explain the infection never spread beyond Great Britain. Presumably even Ireland was safe. They just gaslit the whole population that nowhere on Earth was safe.
>>
>>220204088
There's the comic that follows the black chick from the first movie and has her go back with a group of reporters or activists or some shit, it ends with her and the only other survivor in France about to return back to the US and their plane takes off moments before the infected are spotted on the airstrip.
As far as I know, it doesn't retcon the ending to 28 Weeks unless they made another comic.

I pulled this kind of stunt all the time when I was still playing L4D with my friends. If I noticed that they were getting overrun and a horde was coming, I'd always aim for the safehouse alone and leave them behind. And 99% of the times, we'd win the stage.

You were at fault for being on someone else's property, but yes you probably could have stopped it, pitbulls are nowhere near as unstoppable as people seem to meme them to be. The neighbour was also at fault for not having his dog secured though, if you could jump that fence, his dog easily could.
>>
>>220204045
It's not a prisoner's dilemma, because there's a "literally just walk out the cell, the door is unlocked and they won't come after you" option

that's what you get for shooting birds with a bb gun and trespassing

I absolutely despise how the movie portrays Don as being selfish/cowardly. There was absolutely nothing he could do. He tried saving his wife and getting her to come with him while she still had the chance. He only left when the zombies broke in and got between them, and it was a no-win scenario for his wife. The wife screamed at him to come over and help, but what was he supposed to do? Death was already guaranteed for the wife and that kid, and running back to "save" them from the hoard of zombies would've just meant a guaranteed death for all three of them. That's not a heroic sacrifice, that's just retarded. It sucks that this is the situation they all found themselves in, but that's how it goes.

The wife pressed the blue button and then got upset that Don didn't press the blue button too and join her suicide pact.
>>
28 years later was mid but bone temple was absolute kino

how's that?
>>
>>220184123
he didnt. thats what the sequel is about. i do not recommend watching either
>>
>>220185495
It was just some random kid. They had their own kids who were still alive outside the country. Committing suicide just because your wife was essentially committing suicide isn't moral. It's actually highly immoral, especially given that he has his own kids that he'd be leaving as total orphans.
>>
>>220207168
>mid
its absolutely retarded trash that retroactively ruins the entire franchise.
>quarantine the zombies until they all die
>they dont die
>they start breeding and developing a society
>become an existential threat to civilized humanity
>dont firebomb the entire continent and send 250k infantry to comb every inch and kill anything that moves
im sorry but i can only suspend my disbelief far enough to allow zombies to exist. i cant allow people to forget how to do war. actually im not sorry. zombieshit sucks
>>
>>220207258
You're not wrong. It's annoying how a fundamental plot point of the ending of 28 days later as well as the basis of 28 weeks later is that the zombie infection will eventually burn itself out when they all die of starvation and thirst on their own. As well as 28 weeks later showing us how the military is willing to go fully scorched earth and burn everything down to prevent the same thing from happening again.

I try to look past it and accept the premise for what it is. But they could've at least given some kind of explanation for how the zombies are surviving and thriving after 28 years, why the rest of the world isn't just completely glassing great britain to wipe out the infection for good, and so on.

No, that's not how this works. If the choices were "Don't jump in a wood chipper" or "Jump in a wood chipper but if 50% of people jump with you it jams and nobody dies" the people who didn't jump aren't trying to kill the people who did jump.

Nigga, once shit hits the fan all the woods will be teeming with armed retards , way more dangerous than the zombies.
Max Brooks wrote about exactly this situation. In the first year all the fucking wild animals are shot and eaten. The next year people start eating eachother.
