Harker and mina are 20ft away from each other, but the whole story still revolves around diary entries.It's laughably absurd and ripe for parody

He has no interest in Jonathan, who is also the worst part of the movie ironically. He doesn't actually love Mina. He just wants her to sate his lust to control her. Mina is repulsed by him. It's funny how Johnathon admits in his diary entry that the Vampire women in Draculas castle unashamably arouse him but Mina does not share any arousal to Dracula. But in this movie she is almost instantly in love with him and him with her.
