why do i have to watch ads on a streaming service im already paying for
>>
>>220213326
Just pay a little more and you won't have to worry about ads. Seems perfectly reasonable.
>>
>>220213326
It felt like this was slowly introduced so people wouldn't take much notice. Nowadays every streaming service has some premium bullshit that doesn't include ads but soon enough even those will contain some ads.

I guess it just blows my mind that humanity has come so far in terms of quality of life and technological advancement. You can easily have the perfect entertainment experience from the comfort of your home with access to the entirety of recorded film, TV, music, literature, video games, etc...something that would have been unfathomable 100 (even 50) years ago. And yet we still put up with ads. I suppose you could argue that none of this could exist in the first place without ad revenue but I wonder if there's a planet out there somewhere where they're watching the caliber of kinos but without any ads

Almost everyone watching a stream is on their phone the entire time. Adblocking is only used by around 2.5% of phone browsers. The vast majorty of the audience isn't only unbothered by ads, they're even exicted by them. Like there are people who will send each other 'funny commecials', or 'best superbowl ad compilation', or '10 hours of 90s ads to chill and study with'. Maybe you wish the world or people were different or better, and I hear you, but things are what they are. To be completely without ads the fee your paying has to be higher than the maximum advertisers will pay for the maximum ad space they can force in without driving away 75% of users, roughly. If it's not obvious, that means no streaming service would ever offer an add free level if the market was efficient. The only reason you ever could buy a plan like that was poor market research. That era is just over.
>>
>>220213326
Which one?
If its Prime, then it's because nobody pays for Prime Video. They pay for Prime 1 day free delivery and they get the video as a freebie. Nobody is cancelling their delivery subscription because of ads on their shitty streaming service.

>>220213705
i got snagged once. the distribution companies hire law firms to lock in on individual IPs and then download 100% of the file. then they have standing to take you to court. they dont actually want to go to trial, of course, they just settle for a couple thousand dollars. stop seeding before 1:1 and theres nothing they can do
>>
>>220217672
This is a good thing, i am glad most people seems to love ads, i have even given up on trying to show friends and family how easy it is to remove them, we need most people to eat up ads so that they can pay for those of us who block ads
But of course, despite ad blockers being a miniscule percentage overall, they will never stop trying to force a 100% rate of ad watchers
>>
>>220214801

>>
>>220217661
It's only £12 a month, which I can very easily afford, and I have YouTube on virtually 24/7 just running in the background, even ambient stuff while I sleep. The time I saved avoiding ads is worth that money. Last time I tried blocking those ads ublock wasn't stopping them so I just bought premium instead of trying to stay ahead of the adblocker blocker or whatever. Obviously I use ubittorrent for TV and film that isn't on YouTube.

>>
My Amazon router comes with an adblocker feature. Now that's ironic.

It does make everything stop working though
>>
>>220218102
It works by having users submit the timestamps for whenever a sponsor segment happens, so it's not bulletproof. But since sponsor segments are usually only done by big channels anyway there is usually someone submitting it for most relevant videos
>>
>>220218102
Users mark the sections using the buttons it adds. Sections that get marked enough are distributed to the rest of the users.
>>
>>220213469
Because you didn't pay for it. They don't sell those for market price, it's subsidized by the mandatory ads they cram into the firmware. Did you never wonder to yourself why kindles cost less than half of what equivalent non-amazon branded ereaders cost?
>>220218006
No that anon's right. Throw sponsorblock ontop, it'll autoskip any youtuber SUBSCRIBE or baked in ad as well. Total ad death.
>>220218102
>no idea how it even detects that if they don't put 'sponsor' or the like in their chapters
it's user generated. People mark the sections in manually. You might notice if you follow a extremely niche channel or you catch a video right at upload time that nothing's marked in. Within minutes in most cases there'll be a user though who scrubs through the video and labels the ad breaks.

Anyone remember that one time Firefox broke all their extensions so adblock didn't work for like 6 hours before they fixed it

I hadn't seen a youtube ad on desktop in like 10 years, but in that window I saw a glimpse into what people without an adblock has to go through. >streaming paycucks don't even know that they're paying for an inferior product
4K streaming is not actual 4K quality, neither is 1080p etc, streaming will always be lower quality than a pirated rip, streaming services compress the quality as much as possible to save on server costs and bandwidth. (doesn't apply to streaming from your own server of course, because that way you can choose to have full bitrate)

Jews benefit from both, since they both make slaves of the goyim

Holy MOTHER of GOY

It's truly unbelievable how much the tech industry has ruined the world. Literally everything bad about the modern world can be tied directly back to it, especially this advertising obliterating every second of our lives.

HAHAHAHAHAHA
>>

I don't know.. I can only hope it's because they want to focus on a single ewtension instead of "whatever you want" as it used to be...

They also disabled the adobe extension that I didn't even realise I had so maybe they're just disabling everything like idiots?

>Streaming service
Vaxxed retard detected.
>>
>>220213326

Because instead of relying on their back cataloged of older shows, and making a few good quality shows. The streaming company spent hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars acquiring other studios for their back log of shows and movies but also spent hundreds of millions of dollars making a ton of low quality shows full of "woke propaganda". Now they have to make back their money by price gouging and passing the cost onto the customers.

I pirated movies and t.v. shows before. Won't do that unless I really need to.

Only things I pirate are porn and comics/manga and the comics and manga I will eventually buy.

Simple as.

>>220213326
people are stupid, if you talk about boycotting for things like this they make fun of you for being poor. whatever horrific fate awaits them in the next few years is completely deserved.
>>
>>220213326
Because you'll still pay for it, why wouldn't they take more money from a retard?
