lets say he was a good threat and he was a decent with a sword, but was more efficient with guns. the killing of the Bride didn't effect him but the killing of his unborn niece(until he knows she lived) and after he see's how far Bill is willing to go(because Bill had Bud take part in the killing), that's what makes Bud break apart from Bill. maybe explaines why Bud was mad a Bill. he says "That women deserves her revenge... and... we deserve to die..."
