20 years later does it still hold up?
I only rewatch Vol. 1 for Gogo and O-renAnd Vol. 2 for Elle. But that's it.
it was never good
Nah, not really
>>220220661good movie, shame tarantino is such a simp for jews and nogs.
>>220220661kill bill 2 is the only good tarantino film
>>220220761thisit marked the cringe ass turn for him away from serious cinema to the cartoon horseshit slop he cranks out nowhollywood is the only decent film he's made since pulp with the rest in between all being embarassing-tier
>>220220760Lucy Liu is a gross ugly untalented jew-planted "token asian"
I don't like Wack Jack
There's really nothing in it that makes it seem dated. I never thought it was that great, but watched the cut that restores it to one full movie recently and liked it more. Budd is the most nuanced charatcer because he thinks he deserves to die/be punished but also thinks The Bride does as well.
>>220220661Yeah it’s still just as bad after 20 years
>>220220661Its good but youll never see it again in theaters being like whoa her daughter is still alive for the first time. Also Carradine died jacking off while suffocating himself which overshadows the main villian of both movies.
>>220222513greg giraldo on gilbert godfried>gilbert thank you for being here. gilbert is notoriously cheap, but he tightened his belt and came. hes like david carradine
>>220220661goated. Worked even better as one film. Seeing it in theaters felt like levitating.
>>220220661Shallow, pointless slop for teenage boys with adhd? Gotta be Tarantino.
You guys are all dicks. The trailer battle in Part 2 is the best bitchfight in cinematic history and you all know it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbQppuRNhmE&t=3s
>>220221557not as bad as akwafina
>>220221269>hollywood is the only decent film he's made since pulp with the rest in between all being embarassing-tieryou forgot Jackie Brown.
>>220222513>Its good but youll never see it again in theaters being like whoa her daughter is still alive for the first time.I'm blessed to have never seen it or known the plot until I was sitting in the theater last December.I benefitted from that delayed twist.
I still watch clips of my favorite scenes. I try to use gargantuan into conversations because of elle.
The tone of the movie is all over the place and it feels like Quentin threw bunch of shit to the wall to see what sticks.
The movie where Tarantino disappeared into his own ass. It's still an enjoyable flick but I liked him more when he made good movies.
>>220220760I’m a Bud man, personally.
>>220224425>Worked even better as one filmNo it doesn't. The pacing works so much better as a two parter.
>>220222445>it's so woke my fellow humans
>>220220661Never understood the appeal. I like some Tarantino movies, but the Kill Bill ones lack any substance. It feels a bit like he thought he had some kind of grand idea, but failed to execute it.
I thought it was really good, idk why people shit on it so much. Inglorious Basterds and Django/Hateful 8 deserve all the hate this gets.
>>220227943its all indians
>>220221269Hateful Eight is his best work other than OUATIH
Not really IMO. Like why was her name such a big secret in the first one? What was even the point of those movies?
>>220227943The main character is a stronk womyn which triggers people's girlboss gag reflex. She's not a girlboss because she goes through harsh training, learns from her betters, and gets shit on multiple times by men and women before she can overcome them but she still gets associated with girl bosses because it's such a garbage ubiquitous trope and on the surface they look the same.
>>220220661yes
>>220220760>>220220761As a big fan of Tarantino: Kill Bill wasn't that good. It was clear that it was just Quentin jacking off. Not to say there aren't good moments in it but it just wasn't as good as his previous films.
>>220227943I didn't like Inglorious Bastards when it came out but after a rewatch I realized it was one of his best. Because of that we got Django, which is Quentin's cape shit, and that is one of the most well paced/edited films ever made. And that was the stepping stone for absolute peak Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It's very rare for a director to have his latest film be his best film.
>>220220661No, just like everything from Slopantino
I like the original more.
>>220220661Ill never understand why people praise tarantino for dialogues but his writing is shitty and it shows in hateful8
>>220229486I hate girl boss shit but Beatrix Kiddo isn't one of them, you're correct. Just like how I love Selene from Underworld and Alita.
>>220220661yes, it's still the best
>>220220661The best part is the scene with Sonny Chiba. The rest is just violence slop.
>>220220661I enjoyed it in the cinema at the time, because I was 18 and a gore hound, but it just seems empty to me now.
Kinda wild how Tarantino just lifts character names, music, scenes, even film titles from older movies and people fap over it for some reason. Anyways, I hope the actress who played Gogo is doing alright these days. One of my early waifus.
>>220220661I continue to like it to this day. It's this Tarantino that I most resonate with; the guy who's paying homage to that era of spaghetti western/rape-revenge exploitation/Shaw Bros-era martial arts films/anime/Japanese crime thrillers/etc that I too enjoy very much, and I feel like it was just before he crawled up his own ass with self-indulgent dreck like Death Proof and Django Unchained (which I personally consider one of the most irresponsible pieces of entertainment ever committed to film).
