Ever wonder why there were so many different versions of Batman figures? Action Claw Batman, Capture Net Batman, Missile Attack Batman, etc? It was a loophole to get around that. If you make every toy character A you can juke the required ratios to sell 50 of character A and only 5 of character B by splitting character A into 10 different figures you only sell five of.
