Why was this so hated back when it first released?
>>220227861because it's a bad movie based on a really horrible book about some autistic mormon chick's erotic fantasies
Aside from the dogshit writing, story, characters, etc It exposed many womens' fantasies about wanting to be stalked and courted by serial killers, and some normies didn't like it.
>>220227893>>220227960seems like a psyop, the Twilight Saga is very white-coded.
>>220227861The first movie is straight up live action anime. It even has a superpower baseball sequence.
>>220228441Wait til lil bro figures out where baseball was invented
They didn't realize what they had and what they would lose
it lowered the bar and now the bar is lower
>>220227861It was a women's fantasy out on display. 50 shades is like the grittyrealistic version of it.
>>220228471>lil broGod I hate niggers and anybody that tries to use nigger language. It's so fucking cringe. >>220227861People are insecure.
>>220227893You've never read the book.
>>220228543Stay mad lil bro
>>220227861Every one made fun of emos and scenefags despite them trying to claim otherwise here lately
>>220228627nah, I was a skater in high school (15 years ago)most people here wouldn't have grounds to make fun of kids back then who were going to parties and fucking, and zoomers don't even know what parties are
>>220228650Have you been at a zoomer party? Even a zoomer lunch? Literally everyone's watching their phones.
>>220228650Furries have sex with each other, and so do other autistic individuals. I don’t get your point that you aren’t allowed to make fun of people if they have sex? There’s 8 billion people nigger that’s not a high bar
Very very cheesy and Kristen Stewart acting was so stiff and weird.
>>220228684if you're saying emo kids are on the same level as furries, you're as brainless as this faggot here: >>220227893 who is parroting shit he probably heard from a youtube video
>>220228752I didn’t say that at all learn to read.>parrotingI was in high school in 2008 bro.
>>220227861Because it's shit. Only roasties and childless mentally ill catladies like this garbage.
>>220228837>I didn't say that at allYeah, you did. You did gay-ass whataboutism with furries.>I was in school in 2008So, then you would be aware the whole "mormon" narrative applied to the series is like a gay reddit atheist thing that sprang up a few years into craze over the series when people wanted to be contrarians because it had gotten so popular while being so average
>>220228369I'd say that's mostly truein fact even the werewolf indians (feather not dot) are honorary aryan-coded
>>220228912Nope. You said most people here “don’t have the grounds to make fun of emos because they were fucking” as if that’s a high bar lmao. I just gave examples of other autistic subcultures that do have sex
>>220227861because previous generations had standardszoomers wouldn't understand
>>220229180Great, and your mom started an OF in 2021 and gets fucked all the time. Not really related to teenagers in the late 00s, though.
>>220227861Mainly because it’s fucking retarded.
>>220228650You were a faggot scenekid in highschool who got bullied
>>220229292>bullied for being emo >in 2008--2012sorry zoomer, but not
>>220229274Awwhh is the faggot throwing a tantrum now. Go cry to your other middle aged scene friends
>>220229318>awwhh
Vamp Bryce Dallas Howard
>>220229334>must have last reply!!!You are so mad lil bro
>>220229350>you're middle aged, lil bro
>>220228684>FURRIES AND AUTISTS GET LOADS OF SEX>THEREFORE SEX IS BAD! one of the most demented zoomer copes i have ever read here.
>>220229355It’s an expression, dingus
>>220229374an expression of your fumbling rage, perhaps
>>220229371Kek where the hell did I say sex was bad. Just because someone’s above an incel doesn’t mean they can’t be made fun of
>>220229403well you came up with a demented lie (that autists and furries aren’t notorious virgins).then you spewed out a weird line about how there’s 8 billion people in the world. i read that as a virgin zoomer uncomfortable with sex (and rites of passage in general) trying to talk life.
>>220229430It’s not that ridiculous. Furries are huge sex pests and be hooking up at cons
>>220229430Don't try to argue with these retards who still spazz about how much they hate twilight 20 years after it fucking came outIt's all gonna be based on a doug walker from 2011 or something like that
>>220229305They were bullied for being gay retards
>>220229462I don’t even hate twilight it’s just zoomer revisionism to say that emos weren’t the butt of a lot of jokes in that era lol
>>220229471nopeople still just bullied autistic nerds who smelled bad because they hadn't figured out how to become trannies and shoot up schools yet
>>220229490Yeah like the emo kids
>>220229490Btw a lot of those emo and scene kids moved on to tumblr and became obsessed with idpol and the reason why youbseethe about troons. You live in a demented reality where you valiantly defend the group you hate
>>220229487>it's just zoomer revisionism that emos weren’t the butt of a lot of jokes in that era lolMaybe in like 2014 when the fad was basically over, but I was out of high school by thenYou're aware of how popular every aspect of that shit was at the time, right? You weren't the butt of any jokes if you straightened your hair and listened to Fall Out Boy in 2009, you were just a white kid
>>220229514>Btw a lot of those emo and scene kids moved on to tumblr and became obsessed with idpolAll the troons I seethe about are typically at least 5 years younger than I am, like most of the janitors on 4chan for exampleWhen I used tumblr it was still a place where you could find 16 year old girls posting pictures of themselves in underwear
>>220229518>maybe in like 2014Lmao this is how i know you’re a zoomer Off the top of my head madtv was making fun of emos and this is from 2006https://youtu.be/_5mS49R7Gek?si=imc4Z8BuoIDclmGg
>>220229546MadTV also made fun of the sopranos and old asian ladies that pretend not understand what white people are saying, but that's not really an endemic cultural thing
>>220229518You were bullied for being gay in 2009
>>220229577Sorry, I'm white and from Texas. If had been gay, I would've been fucked straight by the Mexican girls I was already dating.
>>220229574>moving the goalpostsYou got pwned lil zoomie. I thonk your favorite YouTuber mentioned that old word, right?
>>220229602>gigachad edited to look indian
>>220229615That's not moving the goalposts. This would be, though: You only know that phrase because someone said it to you the last time you were in a dumb argument, but they were right about you doing it.Like how you compared gay furry orgies to high school kids having regular sex.
the book is genuinely awful. /tg/ used to have nerdrage threads with passages from it, i went and read the whole thing, it sucked. terrible prose, Bella has zero personality, the vampire lore/powers are like some shounen anime nonsense. there's a point where Bella runs down all the basic vampire tropes and Edward's response is, 'myth. myth. myth. myth.'(i'm not saying you CAN'T do this: I Am Legend did 'scientific vampires' really well.)credit where credit is due to the first film, it was by an indie director (?) and it's that dark blue diet mumblecore that was trendy at the time. the sequels are just bland and ridiculous. Edward has cold blood, and werewolves have hot blood, so to get her temperature just right, Bella HAS to cuddle with them both! nice 'abstinence fable' you've got there.
>>220229637>shows example of emos being the butt of the joke prior to his special year that won’t make him spaz out> that doesn’t countIt’s absolutely moving the goalposts. Cope and seethe about it all you like
>>220229541>When I used tumblr it was still a place where you could find 16 year old girls posting pictures of themselves in underwearthat was just the whole internet before Tumblr, tbf. MySpace and VampireFreaks (definitely VampireFreaks).not to mention Stickam...
>>220229658The credit you give to the movie also applies to the book, even more so, as it's weird outsider art made by a bitch who never wrote anything before and had apparently only ever heard of vampires in passing, it also doesn't follow any of the YA supernatural romance conventions and thus randomly redefined the entire genre by so weirdly accessible to every girl who ever read it, whether they were hot or stupid or autistic or fat>/tg/ used to have nerdrage threadssounds gay
>>220229699>that was just the whole internet before Tumblr>MySpace and VampireFreaks (definitely VampireFreaks).>not to mention Stickam...You know all of these existed concurrently, right?and most kids who used the internet used them allalso sharing private photobucket galleries, skype, tinychat, and irc if you autistic enough
>>220228548>>220228752>he actually read the bookso youre a faggot
>>220229704>it also doesn't follow any of the YA supernatural romance conventions and thus randomly redefined the entire genre by so weirdly accessible to every girl who ever read iti definitely remember the Anne Rice and World of Darkness freaks (ACTUAL freaks) sneering at the Twilight crowd. but it was actually a bad novel, so i don't understand WHY it became the popular/accessible one.>sounds gayyeah /tg/ has always stood for /totallygay/. but i miss that internet. it was earnest and non-political, just neckbeards getting mad at stories.
Years ago, when the first Twilight movie came out, my dad was dead set on taking me and my brother to see it. We tried everything to talk him out of it, repeatedly telling him it was a total chick flick. But he’d only caught the synopsis; vampires and werewolves locked in some ancient war and immediately decided it was going to be like Underworld. So there we were: three dudes rolling up to the theater, buying tickets to Twilight. I have never felt more faggoty in my life. And it was so fucking boring, you know how there’s some things where it subverts your expectations and ends up being a good time despite what you heard? This wasn’t one of those things.
>>220228502huge missed oppurtunity
>>220227893It's this, and people mocking this anon don't understand that this shit happened in waves. Twilight ultimately was the proto-smut fantasy/dark fantasy romance novel that we have today. It had no explicit stuff going on in it, partly because it was a different time and this shit wasn't as normalized as it is today, but the fantasy it sold was the same: the murderous rich white guy having the hots for the female self-insert. The very next big hit in this kind of thing was an outright sadomasochist series that started out as Twilight fanfiction, and the rest is history.
>>220230293>be at a girl's house>open a book she's just got laying on her table next to the TV>one page in>Minotaur fucking a woman with its horsecockPeople have no idea how more sexual and perverted women are compared to men lmao. A dude will just settle for some titties.
>>220230293>proto-smut fantasy/dark fantasy romance novel that we have today.>it was a different time and this shit wasn't as normalized as it is todaywat. i agree with you about people reading 50 Shades of Grey in public, but your grandma was reading romance novels. Mills & Boon took a sexier turn in the 90s, but smut has been around forever (picrel; 1748).vampires have been sexy since the dawn of vampire fiction. Guillermo del Toro's first film, Cronos (1992), subverted expectations by NOT having sexy vampires.
Has a comfy landscapehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvnkAtWcKYg
>>220230666There's a difference between that kind of "classy" smut and the "Werewolf Rape Dungeon III: Anal Prolapse Princess" type of shit women read today. You're right that smut has always existed, but shit today is WAY more overt and gratuitous.
>>220228369because it's written by a straight woman
>>220227861It was popular to hate on popular things like hating Justin Bieber
>>220230293>was the proto-smut fantasy/dark fantasy romance it all tracks back to Buffy
>>220230999Fanny Hill is pure smut, written pseudonymously by a guy in prison.https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/25305/pg25305-images.htmljust Ctrl+F for 'machine' or 'shaft' or something, you'll get the idea.even with my male/visual brain i can understand the appeal of erotic fiction, but the>WAY more overt and gratuitouswriting goes too far. women, generally speaking, have some desire for big strong men, fantasies that often border on (or just are) rape. but how the flying fuck can anyone read 'and then the muscular minotaur man rammed his 12-inch bull-dong into her cervix' and find it remotely arousing?
