Are the Avatar movies popular? They certainly seem to be making decent amounts of money everytime, which means a lot of people actually watch them, but I have never met anyone who would be a huge Avatar fan, even online where people dedicate their lives to Sonic the Hedgehog and all sorts of dumb bullshit, even there you don't see rabid Avatar fans. There doesn't even seem to be a lot of rule 34 type of shit.

Why does James Cameron keep making these movies and for whom?

I wonder if the Avatar movies are best considered along the same lines as the Transformers movies.
>Everybody watches them
>Nobody really talks about them
>They make tons of money
>They keep being made despite apparently little demand
>They're SFX showcases
>They're kinda dumb
It fits, right?

Transformers is more annoying. To this day I've only seen the first two and there's like 15 or so. The second one was that bad.
