There's a class of comedy that got spammed on Comedy Central back in the day that zoomers will never know even existed. The equivalent of romance action flicks that Gen X experienced like Jewel of the Nile and Outrageous Fortune.

Is that really what they were influenced by? Those movies are nothing fucking alike other than both having hostage situations. With that being said Dog Day is way better than this forgettable movie even though it's apples to oranges

Airheads is exactly where it should be in the cultural zeitgeist. The curly blonde chick is hot, Applegate is hot, but everything else is highly mediocre. In terms in objective quality it's not a particularly GOOD film but it's not horrendous or aggressively unfunny. As the kids say it's pretty "mid".

The Ninth Gate is a proper example of a film that is highly underrated.
