Honestly, depends if you're a tech bro or not. If you're into Linux and Automation, then the industry references and some of the tools they use will be interesting. Other than that, no it's just another shitty American slice of life sitcom.

The character Gilfoyle I found particularly relatable, the gags with him usually hit pretty hard. He sets up a Bitcoin Price monitoring script that plays Napalm Death whenever his bot buys a dip and it plays in the whole office - that episode was pretty funny. Some of the humor is just typical nerd humor, some incel guy (faggot main character) spills his spaghetti with a girl because he's seething she uses spaces instead of tabs. The main character is an "intentional cringe" comedy style, and he's very weak and catty. Definitely worth the watch if you're an engineer and looking for something to mindlessly watch while smoking pot or working on a personal project. To just binge watch it? I don't find it entertaining enough for that but it's good background noise.

Feels outdated because back then being a techbro was awesome compared to it being hell nowadays

It's middling overall, but there are some amazing high points. Gavin Belson saves the show.
>>
The first season is great. It starts to lose its edge after that.

>>220245212
its a comfy show too

It's a Mike Judge project, of course it is

Indeed.
I watched it while I was a neet studying Open Courseware Computer Science ^^
>>
For the first couple seasons it’s good but then it just gets repetitive as fuck. They really couldn’t think of new plot lines down the line
>>
>>220245099
it's fun but it gets repetitive at times
>Season X
>the gang all work on a problem thing
>they solve problem thing!
>but something happen to foil their success!
>Season Y
>the gang all work on a problem thing
>they solve problem thing!
>but something happen to foil their success!
do this until it ends. it's funny as shit at times, and the chinaman character basically created a whole trend of unfunny asian-americans copying his schtick.

Heh.
>>
>>220245099
It's pretty funny
"even if he's jerking two at a time there's what, 800 guys in that room, so that's 400 times whatever the mean jerk time is.."

I hated that the pattern is so noticeable but then I remembered that's also how being in a startup actually feels like.
>>
Watch 'Halt and Catch Fire'. the first 2 seasons that is.
>>
Yeah, I'm rewatching it for the third time.

I've never been into "tech" or computers or anything and I didn't find it hard to follow. It was a hit show on HBO. That's not just because some nerds understood the obscure references about software.
>>
>>220248483
My point was it's a shitty sitcom not that it's hard to follow.

The army of lawyers from IBM always gives me chills
>>
>>220245099
It has its moments. The Gavin Belson character is great.

yes

>>220245099
Yeah it's great

Gilfoyle and Dinesh were a fun pair.

I know nothing about tech but i really enjoyed the show simply due to the fact that I lived in cali for a year. There's a very specific type of weirdness and faggotry in the state that was shocking for me to experience and this show captures it very well. I felt seen.

Like all HBO drama/comedy shows they just try to copy the Entourage formula
>>
The Sopranos is HBO's prototype.
>>
>>220245212
Disagree, 90% of the jokes are not tech-related and when they are they explain to the viewer what this or that means
>>
>>220245099
I watch this compilation basically every other month still even though I haven’t seen the show in years like since it ended.
