Are physical media collectors mentally ill? Imagine what girls would think if they walk into your room and see this.
>>220245299>literally everyone who owns physical media has a Criterion closet with hundreds of titlesImagine the ick they get when they see your portable hard drive and HDMI cord
>>220245299i prefer a more curated collection as it displays my particular genres of interest better. For instance, the last female that came to visit was instantly drawn to my studio ghibli section, particularly totoro because of the cover art. I happily informed her she was holding a semi-rare stell book edition. I could tell she was impressed because my cousin (her husband) knows nothing about movies.
>>220245299>Imagine what girls would think if they walk into your room and see thisMy room? How the hell did they get out of the basement?
>>220245299>Imagine what girls would thinkwhy would i do that?
>>220245299usually its “hmm he has a lot of movies.”
if you're hot enough to them they straight up won't care
>>220245299Women don't want a manchild sissy who streams only an exceptionally limited selection of minor-level movie slop, algorithmically drip fed to him, for no good reason other than he fears being disconnected from the umbilical cord of the internet (digital Mommy).Physical media chads get the chicks, & chicks inevitably get them.Fuck the internet. The future belongs to physical media street soldiers.
>>220245299>Imagine what girls would think
>>220245299Being embarrassed about the hobbies you are into is the most b#ta thing ever and will instantly make her cooch dry up like like the Mojave desert. Not giving a fuck about what she thinks shows alpha dominance and will get you laid.
>>220245920Imagine not depending of the internet to make a piece of media work during your date
>>220245299
>>220245299Imagine caring what women think. I have a fiance and kid on the way and I didn’t get that by caring what she thought of my video game or book collection, faggot
>>220245299>he probably has money if he can afford all that
>>220245299>standard def dvdsgrim
>>220245674>a semi-rare stell book edition. Is that the faggot version of a STEEL book edition?
>>220245299>Imagine what girls would think if they walk into your room and see this.Actually my bookshelves with movies, albums, video games, books, et cetera have been a great conversation starter/icebreaker in the past. People can't help but gravitate towards them, maybe because they consume everything digitally these days. I've got friends my own age who literally just listen to their favourite music from the 80s or whatever on YouTube.
>>220248631ehhh... I watch mine on a good Sony TV through an upscaling bluray player and they're OK
>>220245674Did you build those shelves yourself? Any tips?
>>220245645>Imagine the ick they get when they see your portable hard drive and HDMI cordImagine the ick when they find out you have any interests and aren't a billionaire werewolf.
>>220245920Reminds of a friend I had that had nazi shit hanging from his walls. He brought some girl over fucked her and ignored her after. After being ignored she posted on Twitter about him
>>220245819Unfathomably based. OP just killed himself, I'm on the line with the operator trying to tell them what happened but they chose not to send out the paramedics
I collect blu-rays as well as /k/ and /toy/ related stuff. I still have a gf. Women collect all kinds of things like makeup, shoes, stickers, stuffed animals, anything with Hello Kitty on it, etc. Literally just be normal and don’t let your life revolve around collecting or obsessing over being a completionist/hoarder since that signals financial irresponsibility.
>>220245299>Are physical media collectors mentally ill? Statistically speaking, some.>Imagine what girls would think if they walk into your room and see this. That you have disposable income that could be spent on them?I'm not sure where you're going with this.
>>220248343This. If you care what a women think you are a fucking loser, whatever you have are scraps. Leftovers.
I already got rid of my action figure collection, gaming consoles and comic book collection to please normies am i now supossed to get rid of my already normie-frendly movies? What's next?? Bookshelves? Will that be cringe too?
>>220245299>your roomThis is 4chan. You get one room, because you live with your parents.
>>220251556You gotta make your own decisions anon. It's your stuff.>>220248631Nothing wrong with DVDs as a medium.
>>220245299>Imagine what girls would think if they walk into your room and see this.I have a huge collection of movies I've pirated. I've never subscribed to Netflix or any streaming service. Let me tell you buddy, Girls aren't too impressed with me fumbling around with cables to hook up my laptop to the TV. It doesn't drop panties.
>>220251854>Nothing wrong with DVDs as a medium.Besides the fact that they're obscenely low resolution and an outdated codec.
>>220245674>funko pops
>>220251886Having a Shield and an Emby server looks breddy good.
>>220251915You can stretch it to fit the tv you're playing it on. I think the resolution is totally fine as someone that grew up watching VHS and DVD. We get used to watching on the highest resolution or whatnot these days, but ain't nothing wrong with watching DVDs either. Only can think of one or two instances where a DVD looked bad, and I think that had more to do with the transfer.
>>220252139The vast majority of stuff not shot on video has a 1080p or better transfer available. Barring really bad stuff like the 4K AI upscaled Cameron shit, there's no reason to settle. It's another reason why physicalfags are retarded. They stick with inferior releases because they sunk their money into plastic.
>>220252196I don't disagree that BD is usually superior for the reasons you said and more. I think people seem to treat DVDs like there is something wrong with them when there isn't. Sure, get the BD or 4k if you want for better quality, but nothing wrong with DVD either. Plus a person should consider price, the transfer itself (sometimes previous releases look better due to the releases getting touched-up), extra features (if included), and other stuff like that.I buy DVDs and BDs of movies, and sometimes both if the differences are significant between releases. There is a lot I consider when I select the release and medium when buying a movie/tv show.
>>220250849I still like the /v/ edit of this image where the PS3 shelf is empty.
>>220252794I just steal everything I want.
