Scenes that traumatized you as a kid. I had a fear of being buried alive for several years after I saw Casino.
After seeing Iron Man (2008) as a kid, I had a lifelong fear of being killed by Iron Man.
>>220246365the bugs life ride at disney made me scared of things living under my skin for my entire life. zoomer
>>220246365
I would also freak out being locked in a trunk
For me it was Zelda
This whole fucking movie but as an adult I appreciate it more and would probably show it to my kids
>>220246564funny i watched this recently with no memory of this scene and thinking this must have been super traumatizing to millions of kids
>>220246365yeah this scene hit me hard as a kid because i liked joe pesci from home alone
Think I was 3 or 4 years when I was made to watch this, between this scene and x-files I had alien abduction fear my whole childhood
>>220246634I used to have a theater size poster of that movie. Was cool. wish I had my poster collection from a kid. got them all free
Couldn't ever watch OZ again, after this scene. As an eternal short king I was afraid of being mistaken for The Dink and thrown off of a roof.
Laugh if you want but I had a fear of being melted for a while after.
>>220246658You're tough
>>220246732For me it was the steamroller scene. Watching him slowly be crushed, terrifying.
>>220246566There is a movie that is some kind of bootleeg Colour Out of Space, something start to rot everything in some small farm. Two scenes are very disturbing, one where a living cow rots and then explodes throwing rotting meat and flies everywhere. The other is the mom, something similar but worse. I need to find that movie, it was cheap but well done.
see my parents would never have let me watch Casino as a kid. I didn't get to see R rated movies till at least late middle school
>Why are so many people afraid of clowns?
>>220246437turbanhead detected
>>220246808That too, and Christopher Lloyd sells it way harder than he had to.
the scene in ID4 when the alien throws Dr Oaken into the window always scared me when I was a kid
>>220246365This scene traumatized me and I had a fear of billy batts for several years after. That fucker could appear from nowhere at any time and beat me to death with a bat
>>220246365That scene from Alien Vs Predator 2, the one is the hospital
Superman III
>>220246437This is for childhood trauma. 2008 was only 5 years ago.
this scene scared the shit out of me
That Goodfellas scene where Tommy thinks he's about to get made, gets whacked from behind instead, made me deathly afraid of thinking I'm about to be made.
Butterfly Effect dog burning scene. That broke my brain for awhile as a little kid who loved dogs
>>220247284>heres you're fun kids movie brohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpTHrdemfQo
>>220247425>oh n-
Killed my boner for legit 2 weeks
I was afraid of dogs as a kid and also grew up in a very catholic family, so that scene in one of the Omen movies where it is implied a bunch of dogs kill someone because of the antichrists influence scared me a lot
>>220246566fuck that scene
This whole episode scared the shit out of me, but especially at the end where they thought they worked out how to beat him, by pouring hot water on him or some shit. But then when they did it just made him even more powerful and he started chasing them even harder and then the episode just ended (and I never saw the next one). Haunted me for literal months worth of not being able to sleep and nightmares.
i used to trust ruthless assassins before this guy but never after
Paul's death in this movie absolutely terrified me. To this day I still think it's one of the worst ways to die that I've ever seen in a horror movie. The worst part of all is some random youtube comment 30 years later explaining how he didn't immediately suffocate because his dissolving body was releasing oxygen that he could theoretically be breathing. Imagine being kept alive by the byproduct of your body being dissolved.
The woodchipper scene from Rumble in the Bronx
Movie trailer titled 'Buried Alive' 5 year old me saw the first few seconds of it, comprehended the concept and pissed myself crying without actually caring about what the movie was about. From then on, I had nightmares about waking up in a coffin and dying slowly over several days (I didnt know you could suffocate in a coffin). My mom had a job and had to wake me up early so dad can drop us of before going to work himself. I refused to take a nap in the car, or at her office, anywhere public really, because I was scared that people would think I was dead and bury me.Fuck that shit, but then I saw a picture book about sea monsters and suddenly the swimming pool became my new nightmare zone because I thought a monster was sleeping under the tiles and would snatch me up when my foot touched the bottom of the pool.Really my childhood was spent in terrible fear of one thing after another. But now I really enjoy the sensation. I wonder if it made me a pervert, because I got obsessed with driving girls out of town and scaring them in the woods.
>>220247823Lmao I just saw this. My favorite part was the phonebooth scene. I dont know if the cop was dead or not, but I like to think the blob got more patient, or maybe less acidic the bigger it got, and the cop was actually paralyzed by the slime and still fully aware that he was being digested alive.Reminds me of that scene in deep rising where they shot a tentacle and a partially dissolved guy fell out and started freaking out like crazy.
>>220248137The phonebooth scene was pretty scary too!
I watched The Shining when I was 10 and the scene with the lady in the bathtub gave me nightmares for a week or so. Luckily I got over that and am now a completely normal, functional human being. Haha
>>220248137It's been a while since I saw that movie, but I remember you see the guy's eyes moving to focus on the person in the phone booth. So it could have been a coincidental reflex or he could have still been alive. The Blob 1988 is one of the best horror movies ever made in my opinion.
>>220246602My ex tried to get me to watch this with her but I hated watching anything with her so I never did. Maybe I should give it a shot.
>>220248515I thought it just moved because the eyeball was nudged against the glass. Kino all the same. I guess the blob could still be fast because the little kid was already halfway melted when he tried to lunge out of the water.
>>220247719That show really fucked with me as a kid. When I was five my parents moved us from the city to some shithole small town. At first I was too young to really care one way or another. Then I got into this show, which had a very urban setting and vibe, and it reminded me of where I used to live, simultaneously making me homesick and hating the place we moved to.I started putting together comparisons too - in the city we lived on the same street as a school and I'd often be taken to the (awesome and huge) playground and be told "this is where you'll go to school". And then in the small town school the playground had like 1/4 the equipment and they even removed the jungle gym when some faggot fell off the top and stopped moving. The town fucking sucked too. Years later my dad even admitted hating it. It started as a cottage town for rich people and then built a bunch of cheap subdivisions for poor people, so by high school you had a healthy mix of rich preppy faggots in their gay white baseball hats and poor slovenly faggots who thought they were black and spent all day hanging out in front the corner store.
>>220247317BAZINGA
>>220246365This is why I didn't join the mafia
>>220246365The hell were you doing watching Casino as a kid? It's probably Scorcese's most explicit movie (drug use, more than 100 f-bombs, domestic violence, that one scene with the guy's head in a vice and a heap of other violent scenes
>>220247823The kitchen sink kill scared the fuck out of me as a kid. Damn this movie was brutal. Even a little kid dies.
>>220252056Nah Wolf of Wall Street is, 3 hours of pure degeneracy. But most zoomies have seen it
i had a dvd where they played trailers before the main menu and the witch from snow white freaked me out. i think just being in the forest alone with a malicious person trying to poison you scared me at the time. i was probably 6
>>220246704just realised that that's Peter Dinklage
>>220246437same except I wanted to fuck pepper potts
>I had a fear of being buried alive for several yearsI'm glad you grew out of it and are chill with being buried alive now.
>>220246566FUCK. THIS.
>>220246810That sounds interesting.
>>220246862It’s a real mystery.
The 2 people being melted into goo by the transporter in Star Trek 1. I can still hear their screams.
>>220250182Kek
>>220246808fuck you I gorgot about the scene
The RoboCop death scene at the start
>>220246365Most of the scenes that involved an actor dying on screen because I assumed the actor died for real. And yes of course my parents assumed I was autistic.
:(
>>220246365A scene from one old polish movie when they were impaling a guy.I saw it when I was 6 and I still don't like ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpwBDAKhEAo
>>220247886Ah a blast from the past. That scene comes so out of left field in a otherwise very PG13 movie.
>>220246365I watch this scene like once a week, the cut to them just clubbing his motionless body makes me giggle every time lmao
>>220246365Scorsese really is a GOAT director.
>>220246658Bro I miss old daysPeople say "Its just nostalgia googles" but nahI remember going to the theather after a cool movie end its run, and you would ask for the posters and you could get one if they were cool. And it was "a piece", something actually worth having because of scarcity, it was "a theater poster" period.Nowadays you can buy any poster in any size and shape of any movie new or old or even made up posters, effortlessly. When I see 3 star wars framed pics, sized like a normal paper sheet, in a youtube random background from someone... makes me want to puke, it's so performativeIt's less "I have Star Wars memorabilia!" and more "I have consumed Star Wars Product!"
>>220254169He does play a pretty convincing midget
>>220246704I get nightmares knowing I can't do this to Warwick
>>220246810Slither?
>>220246634>find out all the alien scenes in the movie were completely made up and are not connected to that actual story at allfucking sucked finding that out
>>220257108Happened to me though
>>220246810The Curse (1987).
This whole movie traumatized me and made me OCD. I used to think inanimate objects had souls and couldn't throw anything away.
>>220257225I actually had a revelation recently when seeing the thunder and car crush scenes from this film "Ah, so this is where those early childhood nightmares came from."
>>220257509I had the same revelation within the last couple years. I saw some clips from the movie again and it all just made sense why I was like that as a kid.
>>220246365This lil nigga terrified me as a child
When I was a kid I used to stay up late to watch Oz. The scene where Schillinger and his guys break all of Beecher's limbs really freaked me out.
>>220258166>Schillinger and his guys break all of Beecher's limbs
>>220246471Haha when they spray you with mist and then the bugs under your ass. Classic
> The Gate 1987> These fuckersFound out later they were full size adults in costumes.
>>220247823
>Brother and I are bored one day at home and find a VHS movie and watch it>The General's Daughter>We think "Oh cool a military movie">Its got rape, murder, and BDSM scenes combined with military corruptionWe just watched the movie in shock when the rough scenes started.Pretty sure we were like shell shocked for around a week.
>>220246607you're only now coming to grips with it anon..
>>220257162>>220246810thank youColor out of Space is pure headkino
>>220246365Fear it. Hide from it, run from it. Embrace it.Come home anon
I think it was Scary Movie 2 where the invisible guy fucks the girlThat whole movie fucking weirded me out as a kid
One of the segments in Creepshow 2 was a Steven King story about a black blob in a lake that stalks and murders a bunch of college kids. Seeing this at a friends house while his older brothers were watching it did a number on me. Only recently found out the origin and it felt like a fever dream until I confirmed it’s existence. Also melting the shoe from Who Framed Roger Rabbit and there was a scene in (I think) The Rocketeer where some guy gets casually folded in half. Both of those stuck with me for a while.
>>220254509>kills you, then horrifically kills your copyFor me it was a fear of somehow accidentally ending up in a monster-universe due to the monsterland episodes of goosebumps. I watched it recently and it's still a vibe.
>>220246810is it better than the Nicolas Cage one where they just throw purple confetti on the ground and call it a day?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkQda_bL7tkstill viscerally spoopy, especially given its not even a horror movie per se
>>220258361...thats what that memory is? this some sort of theatre/movie theatre?
>>220246365For me it's the nightmare-blob thing from Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. Couldn't go near our basement for years because of that. For some reason I can't find any scenes from that movie on youtube. Why come?
A bit embarrassing since the movie sucks but Godzilla 98 got me good with those baby zillers.
>>220260437>went from godzilla to jurassic park back to godzillaIt was pretty good.
>>220246602Is this as good as everyone says or is it "whoooooa it looks like a Disney movie but there's VIOLENCE! Nightmare fuel"
>>220246365Can't believe the Shah of Iran worked in a cornfield....
>>220246365For me it was this fuckass scene from Scary Movie 3. We had it on DVD around 2010 and I was the youngest sibling, my sisters put it on our TV and called me in exactly when this scene came up. I ran out crying and screaming, having no idea the movie is actually a parody until I was 22.
>>220246365This scene definitely made me feel strange. Wouldn't say traumatized, but it seemed very brutal. Recently saw it again and it didn't seem as bad as I originally remembered.
>>220260943>are you okay?
>>220246365I remember seeing a movie where a guy was being buried alive in a glass / transparent coffin so you could see clods falling onto the lid from within. Can't find it now. Also Wes Craven's Chiller, I think a guy comes back from cryo and kills his mother with a poker. I always looked at pokers with dread as a kid.
Visitors of the Night - a 1995 TV movie with Candice Cameron. I was like 7. I remember always being fearful of aliens in the 90s. So many types of mystery shows and documentaries about them.
Mars Attack gave me nightmares for months. There was just something very frightening about the aylmao's design. The scene where they start blasting the first time just seemed incredibly cruel.
>>220247823The caring scene where they blob destroys a girls face before emerging onto a guy who was feeling her up was really ugly and scary looking>>220258500The remake is actually brutal and had balls to kill a kid
>>220254831Oh yeees, same for me but in With Fire and Sword.
The shining elevator trailer still creeps me out cause the unsettling look feel and scary music. Also the toolbox murders 1978 has a creepy look and feel being from the late 70s
if you watched Sightings as a kid, pretty much everything in it
>>220246365I was unironically satisfied with his death when I first saw it as a kid. Piece of shit.
>>220257225i bet if i watched the Brave Little Toaster movies, i'd relive a load of childhood nightmares. i know i've seen them but remember almsot nothing about them but a vague memory of unease
