Did it actually accomplish anything?
made me stop watching tv
>>220246377everything. movies are so good now and hollywood shouldnt be destroyed
>>220246377It helped Mark Ruffalo bring hobo shoe string belts into fashion.
Led to more people watching Streamers for entertainment. Hollywood as we know it is on borrowed time and can't win back Zoomers or Gen A so they're just appealing to Boomers, Gen X and Millenials

>>220246377this unabashed vulgarity only works in gated communities>>220246521post that kate beckinsale ig post to this guy
>>220246377it made everything worse for everyone involved
it damaged hollywood badly and that's a good thing
>>220246377There's literally more nepo babies in hollywood than ever before in history of hollywood
It’s basically like a doorman’s strike at this point
they threw voice actors under the bus
they were right to strike back in 2008 and that was the time to actually do something, however they failed to get any meaningful provisions from the industry regarding how new media should be handled under the contract and that doomed them to forever playing catch-up. 2023 was literally them striking over the exact same shit 15 years later
the 07-08 strike was a lot more impactfulshows were cut down and many ran half seasonsnbc gave jay leno a prime time show2023 wasn't that big a deal because covid had already shut down production so much, especially in california>>220246551I'd say it's streaming instead of streamersyou can still make a good show for not much money, just cant do it with hollywood unionsnetflix didn't care about 2023, they could just do another season of squid game
Not really, but it didn't hurt either.Everyone in Hollywood thinks everything is mega-fucked right now because productions are way down due to high interest rates, and their lack of actual bargaining power is being exposed. For 40+ years, everyone in Hollywood was coasting and eating high on the hog because there was just a lot of money sloshing around, and they had strong benefits from having really good union contracts that were mostly respected by the studio executives who didn't play hardball with talent/creatives/production because there really wasn't any legitimate alternative to producing in Hollywood. The new players like Netflix and Amazon changed the game because they're outsiders and don't give a fuck about the way things have always been done, so they've started to play hardball and squeeze labor and set up alternative production locations.
>>220246377It destroyed LA and now all the productions are moving out of California, so all these people are out of the job in a very high cost of living city
>>220248645>so all these people are out of the job in a very high cost of living cityhopefully they move and the cost of living lowers
>Hey gays I'm guy btw not sure if you noticedIs that the only move she knows?
>>220246377>interpret literally everything though the lens of sexualityNow I remember why I stopped watching shit
i wish my industry had a union to join
>>220246596probably wearing gym shorts. makes it easier to just to just throw his migrant day laborer costume on over top of his own clothing, without needing to fully undress
>>220246377She should have taken her top off like those French feminists
>>220246377>i'm a topLine? She's revenue?
The 2008 writer's strike and its consequences have been a disaster for entertainment
>>220248900She's saying she brings in the revenue as a confident top billing leading A-list actress
I hope all socialists die painfully.
>>220246521>at home painting your new gamer room (not hiring some decorator - he COULD be an israeli!)>realise theres a writers strike>go straight there still in paint covered clothesbased Ruffalo. Friend of the working man
>>220246521>Jeeves, fetch me my poor people clothesit's funny, of course, because these people have been joyful participants in a ceaseless corporate propaganda war against the white working class for more than half a century, portraying any white person who doesn't want their community and livelihood destroyed by foreign scab labor as a literal, frothing at the mouth demon.
>>220246521The absolute fucking state of you.
>>220246521>Hello, fellow The Poors. You caught me after a long day of doing my monthly bleaching, as we do.
>>220248822God I want to fuck her wife
>>220248264>The new players like Netflix and Amazon changed the gameAnd that fact that social media showed to everyone who Hollywood actors really were (normal, average, oftentimes cringy people) helped, too.
>>220246377The earl 2000's strike totally derailed ongoing tv shows and movies (weird short season of House, Heros got fucked, etc)This one didn't even leave a splash in the industry, didn't achieve its goals, and now AI is more common (and popular) than ever!
>>220246377do LGBToids have a personality beyond their fake sexual identity?
>>220250983>fellow The Poorsgoddamn
>>220246411basically this
>>220246377I support AI and the destruction of white collars and artistssorry but not sorry.learn2prompt, fags.
>>220246377Is that the kid who plays Shazam
>>220251643that surely won't bite us all in the ass
>>220246377Yes, it showed how unnecessary a lot of the writers and actors were and gave studios an excuse to trim the fat.
