This is the scariest movie I've ever seen in my life
>Nothings happening>Nothings happening>Uh...something about a video>There was a scary face>That's it
>>220248548What should have happened. This is sure to be great
>>220248491I wish, the only movie that has ever unironically scared me was this, I've watched tons of horror movies and still nothing even comes close.
>>220248548
>>220248491Okay, mungoloid.
>>220248491I actually can't name anything more unsettling than this movie
>>220248491>>220248548Yeah I dont get it either. At least with Blair witch they're trapped in the forest for a while and they do a good job setting up the lore for the area their going to, with lake mango its>Girl died in lake>She was nice>Actually she was a slut and involved in a threesome with another couple(?)>They had nothing to do with her death>And she went to a party>Met her doppelganger for like a second>later died (she looks like doppelganger now)I didn't get it, and the entire time im just waiting for something interesting to happen or go somewhere.
>>220248491It's funny how everyone either considers this movie absolutely terrifying or a complete waste of time. There's no in between
>>220248491It's garbage
>>220248548lmao
>>220249291This. I watched this movie based on it being recommended here all the time by anons and afterwards had a tremendously tough time accepting that I hadn’t being trolled into watching it.
>>220249291It is a complete waste of time though. Unironically would've been way better if it were a short film on YouTube. Came out in 2008. Would've had the same effect if it were 10-15 minutes long. Admittedly the idea of encountering your own ghost corpse stalking you in the dark alone at night is terrifying but the preceding 80 minutes didn't do much to enhance it. I skipped most of it and I do not regret it.
>>220248491I could make something way scarier to be honest, but I don't have any friends, connections or money or influence to get what I want out of people, so guess it'll live in my head until something kickstarts my filmmaker career
>>220248491Hell House LLC is better
what do lakes feel lie bros
>>220249602Like a boring sea
This is the scariest movie I can think of.
Haters can get fucked. Making an entire movie be the setup for one jumpscape is based af filmmaking and has my eternal respect
>>220248982What’s something interesting to happen
>>220248491Welcome to Derry was actually really scary toward the last half
The movie "Malignant" really freaked me out with its twist:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gczt0fhawDsThere is a serial killer named Gabriel who is hunting the woman. The twist is she has a face on the back of her head under her hair, a parasitic twin, which can take over as the dominant personality, flips the hair back over her face revealing its face, then dresses with clothes on backwards, then runs around murdering people while running backwardsFor example look at this crazy shit near the end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLzY0tWUtFo
>>220248982I think if you guys went into it again with the mindset that it’s a documentary about something that actually happened that makes it creepier. I would have felt that way about the Poughkeepsie tapes as well but the acting was genuinely bad
>>220249474same brother. fucking dumb. then I realized no movie could possibly scare me - maybe the scene with the sister in Pet Semetary but that's it
>>220250335That movie sucked, John Wick tier shit scenes, fucking retarded, this was right after Aquaman from James Wan, no wonder it looked like slop
It had one (1) really well done spooky scene, otherwise really boring
>>220248491that's not kairo
>>220248491Nah
>>220248491The scariest movie I've seen is Pet Semaetary (1989)
>>220252273I probably should not have watched that movie when I was like ten years old. I had nightmares for a while.
>>220250867I haven't been actually scared by horror movies since I watched the ring and gothika about the same time when I was around twelve years old. those movies scared the shit out of me. but as a grown ass man I can hike around the woods at night and hear an animal screaming I've never heard before in my life nearby and think it's awesome. I've completely lost the ability to feel supernatural fear.horror movies are still one of my favorite genres due to the unpredictability the genre tends to supply.
>>220250335This is so fucking retarded holy shit. Actual B-movie.
>>220248548Filtered.
>>220250335absolute shit
Oh no, a woman
>>220250335I figured the twist out in the first 10 minutes of the movie. It was so fucking obvious when she was walking on her hands and feet upside down.
>>220248491Released the same year
haha mungo funny word :-)
>>220252441I was like eight. No idea what my parents were doing letting that kind of shit into my young mind. I don't think kids are supposed to see or think about dead people reanimating. >>220248491I think "scary" can be defined in a few different ways / experienced differently by different people. Lake Mungo didn't make me paranoid about real life. I wasn't jumpy. I didn't feel overly tense watching it. But it stayed with me and creeped me out for weeks and I'd get the chills.
>>220248982Read back what you wrote. It's a Twin Peaks ripoff, she's even named Palmer.
>>220253754Yeah the idea that something is alerting you of your impending death for no particular reason really stuck with me for awhile after seeing this. It was the last horror movie to really get to me
>>220253896I wondered if that something caused it, almost like a curse. The concept is subtly thrilling and it needed the documentary format and probably that particular director to sell it. So crazy that he just made the one film and disappeared. for 20 years.
>>220248491I liked this movie but I’m convinced the hype is just because it was zoomies first actually good Found Footage. It didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel.
>>220253232Wasn’t this a directorial debut too? Crazy shit. I’ve watched it a few times because it’s one of the few horrors that really can really illicit a physical reaction in me. Grimmest, most oppressive atmosphere, truly bleak.
>>220248491Yeah I was scared I'd never get those 90 minutes of my life back I didn't
>>220248491Fucking how?
>no you don't get it its the SUSPENSE that scares youBlair Witch, this film, and all the other pseudo-documentary found footage psychological horrors are the most boring movies ever made.
>>220249991I love Tim Curry, but Skarsgard’s Pennywise is legitimately better.
>>220252273She’s still waiting for me at the end of every darkened hall.
>>220248491>I've never watched any other scary movies.
The exorcist is the scariest movie, its got the most awful vibe
wow lake mungo mentioneda friend of mine brought that to a scary movie night, that shit sucked ballsJason X on the other hand, that movie rocks
>>220248491its scary how some lucky bastards get to plap teen girls and we dont honestly what was the point of putting that into the story lol
