the show was less good than the production, the cast and crew had a lot of fun on the specials.

>>220257684I remembered liking it a lot when it was on and thought it was great for years until they had his brother become a tranny or whatever and he quit his job and started his band then stopped watching it. Apparently that all happened in like the 3rd season and ran until 2004 so it turns out I haven't even seen most of it. First couple seasons were great. Never even heard of the weird special episodes before today, but the one where they go to lewis's job and there's monsters roaming the halls and shit was funny.

Maybe a little too ambitious at points, between one off wacky surreal episodes mixed in with arcs about Drew dealing with alcoholism and trying to start a band, but it really is a hidden gem. I wish more sitcoms had the balls to do crazy gag episodes instead of leaning on relatability and misery porn all the time.
