This Alternative ending to the first one is way better, why didn't they use it?https://youtu.be/FrhnRChU5VQ?is=adO1WZDLD4Jon1clPrevious thread>>220235362
>>220257924I mean call it sappy or whatever, the film was leading to this ending.
>>220257924I think the only reason they didn't went with this ending is because Carter lives and test audiences hated Carter because he was seen as the villain bully, when he wasn't exactly evil and didn't deserve to die, he was just an asshole guy who slowly becomes better as he goes through the experience of being near death
>has premonition of a plane exploring>premonition comes true and saves friends and teacher>everyone treats him like shit snd accuse him of being a killerRetarded movie
>>220257924What really confuses me is how nihilistic and cruel the series would become whereas this ending is very gentle and benevolent.
>>220259315Imagine this first film with this intended ending came out. And the next sequel was FD: Bloodlines where it's "fuck you, everyone dies". Fucking tonal whiplash.
>>220258827>Someone says plane will explode>It explodes>People treat him like he's the one that made it explodeYour the retard anon.
>>220259487Then why would he warn everyone to get off the plane? Nicest “bad guy” in the world award
>>220259532ThisThe writers half baked their script. If they cooked longer it would be kino.
Which do you prefer? The theatrical or original ending?
this movie gave me fear of flying
>>220258827it's because he's always around and acting like a schizoid when the people he saved start being killed by death.
>>220259695The ending you posted looks gay as hell.
>>220260672The rest of the movie was leading up to it though, with the photographer and the falling leaf.
This is such a kino scene and it's surprising the first film goes in this direction unlike the sequels. The first film was intended more to be a drama/thriller than a splatter film.It even vaguely hints at the afterlife softening the edge of the series.
About to watch 2 now, where I hear the tone dramatically shifts into schlock.
>>2202624011 > 5 > 3 > 2 >>>>>>>>>>> 4Havent seen the newest one. Any good?
I don't know how anyone could have been happy with this decision
>>220263153Or killing clear of in a shitty way, I know even the creators agree with me on that one.
>>220262729Yeah it's good, I'd put it at the same level of the fifth or third one.
>>220259532to avoid suspicion, knowing most people wouldn't believe him
So I just watched FD2.While there are 10/10 scenes in there, especially the opening disaster, it's overall a lesser film then the first. It just ain't scary and the characters kinda suck.I have to deduct it points as well for killing of Alex and Clear, and in such a shitty fashion as well.I don't get why people call this the best one.
>>220265053I can see the steps it's taking into turning into a cartoon, still not the evil, mean-spirited series it's infamous for though.
>>220265121Also, not to mention I'm starting to miss the realism of the first one
>>220265053I don't get it either. The characters suck and something is off with the direction that makes it feel cheap that none of the other films have including 4 which is the worst one. Like its a made for tv movie with bad acting from the lead and others.
>>220265053Watch 3, its comfy as fuck. Way better than 2. Even if Puta is in it.
Up next is 3, the one that really kickstarted the OCD.
>>220265175It did feel like television more than a movie, it was a good way of putting it, the vfx could be terrible at times.
