what's /tv/'s unbiased opinion on this movie? i thought it was an okay movie with unnecessary reddit le quirky humor forced in. similar to The Martian.
>>
didn't watch it, it looks gay

>okay movie with unnecessary reddit le quirky humor forced in.
Its this. I think The Martian was more fun even if Marcus was goofier at times, and the payoff is better that everyone on earth is watching him.
Also, Rocky is made into a goofball when hes fairly serious in the book to make him like Stitch or something.
Also, whoever did the voice of Rocky was a terrible choice. Ryan was good enough though
>>
I'm convinced people just wank anything Ryan Gosling's in

I will gladly kick anyone who likes this movie in the nuts.

Our generations 2001. It did what few Sci-fi films do, it inspired, it amazed, and most importantly, it made you think.
>>
I'm convinced the fags hating the film haven't seen it, they're just frothing at the mouth about some imaginary Redditors liking something.

Ryan Gosling is a traitor to the human race. He should have not only left the rock spider to die but actively sabotaged it's jars. Now they'll send a droplet or squash the Humans into another dimension. The star eaters were actually created by the dominant race in the milky way to deal with the stream of about 6000 sun like stars which were formed nearer to the center of the galaxy but were thrown outward by an ancient galactic collision. They infected the whole group to pre-empt life. Thinking the area has been sterilized there will be ample time to develop in solitude maybe someday becoming a formidable presence in the galaxy before being discovered. Fuck the Trisolarians.

Im supposed to be some kind of evil chud or whatever and I just dont get this. What in this movie is supposed to piss off Chuds? The white guy the movie is about? The one who never has sex, spends half the movie isolated from others, blows off women authorities, and commands a black slave while on Earth? Or am I supposed to be pissed off about the funny little rock alien? Or maybe the sense of wonder and optimism in general? Did I blink and miss a trans rights scene, or what? What is all this talk about? Why am I supposed to hate the movie, and how in the fuck is reddit involved with it? For the 1000 posts I have seen shitting their pants about reddit cooties there better be some non-fucking-zero connection. I swear if it's just more "the entire concept of a line-break is reddit because I was born after the creation of reddit" crap I will never pay any mond to reddit as an insult ever again.

Rocky was genuinely fun, I enjoyed him. I think there were moments they tried to make him more like a dog than a distinguished engineer, but I'd chalk that up to recognizing he's a funny five-legged rock fella and playing that up. Project Hail Mary and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has proven that Hopecore is BACK.

those people are mexicans and are too esl to actually watch the movie

They literally & immediately begin combusting that material like a fossil fuel, though, with no long term research on the effects that has on the environment, which is based and redpilled, ergo, concordantly, I don't give a shit. But thank you. It is an argument.

I quite liked it. I know, I know, this is /tv/, I should either say it's the GOAT or utter shit, but it was simply quite good. It's deceptively well-paced, but there isn't 2 hours and 30 minutes of material in it. It didn't drag at any point, but it could have been an hour shorter without losing much. I've no intention of reading the book, but the movie ending wasn't that great. It was OK, but the unspoken assumption is that by the time the "cure" got back to Earth, billions of people will have died, with the survivors eking out existence in ice-filled wasteland. All those kids from Gosling's classroom? probably killed each other over food, if not actually cannibalised one another. Seeing the goose on an alien beach teaching alien children was kind of tonally at odds with the reality back on earth.

Gosling's character was weirdly asexual and I was disappointed he didn't throw the german redhead a bone, although I'm only projecting because i found her voice and manner extremely sexually attractive.

Interstellar is still the better space movie, and Sunshine despite all it's faults is the better movie about the Sun going out.

I loved it, listened to the audiobook afterwards and loved it as well. It was a great adaptation.
My only nitpick is the aurora on Adrian in the movie, green and red colors come from oxygen molecules interacting with the solar wind, Adrian has majority co2 atmosphere so the aurora would appear in infrared.

it's unimaginably good kino. pack loaded with hope so I can see why nihilistic tards hate it so much
