Characters are archetypes, have classic arcs and once the arcs are completed the story ends as stories are supposed to. SW never hides it´s identity as a story. Even through out the movies you get narrative transitions. Second of all, these stories are about family relationships. There is obviously narratives and visual styles to consider as well that set atmosphere, tone and the like but you get what i´m saying. For the most part that is what the show was, the show was the only good Disney Wars show because it was the only one to understand SW. It even framed the whole thing as a western to make the whole story thing more recognizable. It should have ended there but Disney saw it doing well and did what companies always do when suits call the shots. Instead of ending it they tried to keep it going, make it part of this cinematic universe like thing and all that. They even went as far as shifting the focus to a different character to keep things going and then, obviously, the show died. It´s not really all that surprising.

The worst thing about the prequels is a lot of characters who could have been done with costumes and makeup were CGI, and that was a mistake, and it did age very poorly. CGI is still just a tool that can either be utilised correctly or not, however.
