There's a scene in the second episode that really shows it's being written by a native New Englander. When the mayor drags the crazy guy out of the inn and calls him a hick, and the townspeople watching all gasp. That's a real New England thing. Call me ugly and stupid or inbred all you want, but don't you ever call me hick or hillbilly. Those words are for worthless southerners, not us important northern folk even if we share the same characteristics as them.
