Why does watching Family Guy in a hotel room give off such euphoria?
for me it's spanish simpsons
For me it’s Family Guy or baseball. Gotta love the replays at 1 in the morning.
Old Family Guy is comfy. The Star Wars spoof was the last of the good episodes.
I remember as a poor kid we used to go rent a motel room because they had a pool and after a day of swimming we'd go in the room, some of us sitting on the bed and the floor and we'd watch stuff like Family Guy while eating vending machine chips. That AC in the room would be on too so we'd be drying off in a cold room with towels over us. I think all of that combined just gave that comfy, euphoric feeling.
Because the combination of evening television being so shit and that you're on your own in a hotel room preparing for an early night, we'll it's depressing. And then you find family guy, just a reliable tv show, and maybe you're not in bed at 9pm after all
>>220265610I have found that doing just about anything in a decent hotel room with the AC running on a hot summer day is comfy as fuck. Or when the hotel has a decent restaurant with a breakfast menu on a cold winter morning.
I hate being in a hotel.None of the comforts of my house.Nothing on the television. And I'm usually sat for an hour on my phone waiting for my gf to get ready or something.I want to spend the least amount of time in the room as possible.
>>220265610because it's the same as it's always been.Traveling can be stressful, even if you're used to it. Being away from home can still be draining and it's uncomfortable sleeping in a new bed far from home. You might want to escape and return to comfort for a bit, and Family Guy is just that. It's the same as it ever was. No matter where you're at in life, Peter is still setting up cut aways for Surfin Bird.
>>220265633¡SIMPSONÈS!
>>220265809how do you have a gf. arent they very annoying to deal with? and always making you do things ugh. plus most of them are ugly or untrustworthy
>>220265809Go find a hotel in the middle of downtown and get a room where you can see the city at night from your window. You'll feel like you're rich for a day even though you'd have to spend maybe $200+ on the room.
there's a certain amount of shame or embarrassment watching something raunchy when at home but in a hotel room this pressure is non existent giving you feelings of euphoria for this new life. It's the non sexual version of inviting men with big juicy cocks into the room to fuck your brains out and cum deep inside you like the dirty slut that you always dreamed of being but can't when at your private domicile
>Took a vacation in Utah last year>Spent all day hiking Zion Park and the Grand Canyon where temperatures were in the early 100s>At the end of the day of a would go into my air conditioned Hotel room tired as fuck and would see Family Guy being played constantly >Was overjoyed each time Its honestly just good comfort food after a long day of sightseeing
>>220265896chinese bot
>>220265898this is actually an idea I never thought of and now I feel like doing
>>220265896
>>220265809>None of the comforts of my house. The older I get, the lower my tolerance for discomfort becomes. Now that I'm mid-30s I bring two 80 liter suitcases with me whenever I travel. By the time I'm 40 it will be 3 suitcases
>>220265809>I want to spend the least amount of time in the room as possible.Thats the point of a vacation. A hotel is just a place to pass out after a long day of sightseeing or getting drunk
it seems like any time i was on holiday as a kid and we were staying at a hotel, "fort boyard" was on tv
>>220265729Based povertyanon
i remember being in a hotel room that for some reason only played old reruns of sharpe
>>220266133Sounds like a damn good time
Is it possible to just buy the ACs hotels have for yourself? I think contributes heavily to the comfiness of hotel rooms. Wonder how bad the electricity bill would be.
>>220265610TV to watch in bed. Elevated and not just on a table. That's perfect. Someone really thought that through for maximum comfy.
>>220266022I agree. My family don't agree.
>>220265610why is it framed like the mona lisa
>>220265610I love staying in the hotel. The amount of viewing options is so lacking and you end up watching shit like this. But it's great. You're on vacation. Order that 25 dollar pizza.
>>220265880>No matter where you're at in life, Peter is still setting up cut aways for Surfin Bird.
>>220265610Hotels are comfy because I associate them with vacations and taking time off work. I don't really watch television anymore, so having to flip through channels to find something worth watching is a nice novelty. If I had to travel for work, though, I'd probably not like hotels that much.
>>220266021>I bring two 80 liter suitcases with me whenever I travel80 liters of what? Booze?
>>220265904underrated
>>220268044Thanks for the upvote faggot
>>220265904Yeah your family doesn't want your boyfriends around them. Have you tried not being a faggot?
>>220265610for me, it's the endless episodes of storage wars
>>220265809Hotels shouldn't be more than just a place to sleep at during your nice fun vacation. That or banging prostitutes before going to bed.
>>220265610Because all the channels were different than what you were used to back home but you could usually find Family Guy around whatever time your checked in and got up to your room just by flipping around. And whoever you were with usually was fine with it so you could both agree on putting it on as you settled in for the night awaiting the events to come the following day
For me it’s the DDD marathons Friday and Saturday. Perfect way to close out a long fun day
>>220265610FOr me it's freezing my ass off under the covers watching south park
>>220265610Family Guy doesn't feel good to watch in a hotel for me, it just feels like the least offensive thing to watch, but even then the commercial breaks ruin it.Honestly every time I visit the US I get this weird sense of hostility and alienation. Like it feels so completely alien from the world I know. And seeing Family Guy on network TV there gives me this weird sense of uncanny valley because when I'm watching it online on the free streaming site without ads it feels familiar, but the dystopian pharmaceutical ads and loan ads they play (this was Las Vegas) in the commercial breaks on the hotel TV makes the vibe weird.
>>220265677Yeah it's definitely gone downhill. The early seasons had interesting plots, nowadays all the main plots are just filler between cutaways. Compare something like Da Boom or the 'Road to...' episodes to any of the new season plots and it becomes obvious the show is nowhere near as funny.
kino that hits best at night
>>220268209swing and massive miss
>>220269762pro tip: only mexicans watch family guy, they are the people commercials work on. also a large userbase on /tv/ are mexicans. do with that information what you will
>>220265809I like hotels, personally. I wouldn't mind part of the trip I'm on being inside the hotel watching kino. I'd hate to travel with someone that needs to be outside all the time.
>>220265610POV: you're a retard who enjoys family guy.
>>220265931I went there too. Judging by the lines there is a 75% chance we're both brown.
>>220266197Yeah you can buy them I just looked.
>>220271930I've never met anyone that still watches family guy
>>220265610because it's a familiarity in a strange or new environment, so we latch onto it strongly and it brings us comfort.
>>220266197They are called PTAC units. They can be rapidly changed out by one maitnence guy with a dolly. Getting a hole cut in your house that will fit one is the expensive part.
>>220265931>Zion ParkNice. I haven't been to the Colorado Plateau in over a decade now (New Englander) and I need to go back. Going to the desert is like being on another planet. If you're looking for more hiking recs like that you should check out Arches National Park. Looks like something out of Monster Hunter. Personally my favorite experience with the Grand Canyon was flying over it on a normal commercial flight. It's so big it feels like you can't even appreciate it properly from the ground.
>>220265729Same. But we used to dry off under the sheets with Uncle Gary and his friend.
>>220269762Watching it on a free streaming site is fine but that is way more fuckin soulless.
>lowkeyHow fucking faggy.
>>220265610I can only speak for myself, but working out of town for long periods of time sucks. Even when you're making good money. A lot of the time, I was working 12+ hour days. By the time I ate dinner, showered, and brushed my teeth, I only had about 1 hour or so to myself before I had to go to bed. I spent countless nights doing that. To the point where they all started to blur together. Watched a lot of family guy, seinfeld, turner classic movies, and game shows
>>220276049straight slave race. slave job straight to slave programming. fucking hell on earth
>>220276542I make a lot less money now, but my quality of life is great.
>>220265610because you are a braindead moron with an EXTREME case of bad taste on media?
>>220277778How bout I shoot a big load into your ass?
>>220265610this but an old movie like The Shawshank Redemption
>>220277799the kind of response one should expect from a Family Turd fan
>>220265633Spicsons overrated at its only browns glazing it and whites parroting that sentiment
>>220275765Rape isn’t funny.
ayy BETER
>>220271744For me it’s 3rd rock from the sun. The show is very low key because the conflicts are generally low stakes and John lithgows voice is familiar like a friend or family member so it helps me sleep
>>220265610So there really are people who watch tv in hotels? Why? I thought they were there just out of necessity.
>>220271744this is what tim&eric took from you
baskin roberts is why. has been since 2011.
>>220279047>anon learns that not all travel is done purely for leisureJust wait until you find out what a business conference is, it’s going to blow your fucking mind dude
>>220279130>he said, fists balled up, tears welling up in his eyes
>out of shower>icecold beer at hand>night city underneath with thousand lights in thousand colors>cars like ants>pop open the white styrox>hot meal waiting you>TV hyms night-time news in japanese>tomorrow will be the second day in Tokyothere really is nothing like it
>>220265610For me it's American Dad on a cruise while eating something you brought from the buffet/deli
>>220271744SuperJail is a work of art
>>220280183kino
>>220271544The "Road to..." episodes were always their worst. Just Macfarlane getting off to the sound of his own voice.
>>220265610family guy has fucking sucked since the revival but you were probably born the year it was cancelledfaggot
>>220280183how's the beer over there?
it's funny how people can only enjoy family guy when they are in their most retarded state
>>220275685>Personally my favorite experience with the Grand Canyon was flying over it on a normal commercial flight. It's so big it feels like you can't even appreciate it properly from the ground.I always get window seats when I fly into Vegas.
>>220277799>>220278017He didn't say no, that means you're legally free to rape him.
Family Guy is a show that isn't good enough to watch when you're at home and have infinite options, but is the best option when you are on the road and stuck with cable shart
>>220278203It is with a laugh track.
>>220265809After having kids you will learn to love comfort of hotel
>>220267838order two.
