I think it is the best Best Picture recipient of the 21st century other than Lord of the Rings and maybe No Country for Old Men, but there are some recent ones still worth watching like Parasite and Everything Everywhere All at Once. I was just looking through the list though and those were the only ones that seem even worth mentioning imo. Most of them I don't think should have even gotten nominations, like was. Academy Awards are such a fuckin farce, there are so many good movies released independently every year that don't get any attention. I don't even hate Anora like most chuds but I can't even pretend it would belong in a top 10 list let alone the best one on that list. I think Hamnet should have won this year. Sorry for ranting.

yeah, I love it. I once showed it to a group of boomers from Europe and they told me it sucked. I suspect it's primarily because they were Europeans and not Americans and so they didn't get the whole new york appeal. They had this idea of New York being all high society and all. And they definitely didn't appreciate the plot either. Weird crowd.

I watched them all dude, it is way worse than Sinners and One Battle After Another. I am not a big fan of those movies either but I watched all the 2026 best picture noms. F1 has the depth of a Michael Bay script but misses out on the Michael Bay explosions and robots. Maybe it was visually impressive to people that are into racing but even then the script is miserable. I challenge you to watch it because maybe itll make you hate the other movies a little less.

I tried watching it despite all the hipster hype.
