Here's your Green Goblin, bro.
>>
>>220267125
Better than No Way Home rehashing a 20 year old villain.
I respect shit originality over mediocre retcons.
>>
>>220267355
Of course you do, Dane.

No, it wasn't.

Shit wasn't even that bad. Harry was a good counterpart to Peter in that film.
>>
Oh my God, the goblin is green!
>>
>>220267125
>instead of a mask....he....turns sort of greenish and has sharp teeth for some reason!
>>
isn't that the question of the day

That movie was silly. I thought he was the Hobgoblin.

He looks like this IRL now :(

THATS THE QUESTION

Harry is actually a decent antagonist/foil to Peter.
One of the biggest problems of that fucking script (besides dialogue>>220268232) is that Electro is completely pointless for the overall plot, only useful to bring action scenes.

Unironically better visually than the first movie, putting a static mask on Dafoe was beyond retarded.

>NWH Goblin > TASM2 Goblin > SM Goblin > > SM3 Goblin

>>220268162
>has sharp teeth for some reason!
It's actually because he fucking bite them so hard it shatters them out of pain. Cool idea but it was cut because the effect was kinda goofy, you can see it on the deleted scenes.

im so glad this ugly faggot vanished from the screen. he was in a ton of stuff for a while, but after valerian bombed, hollywood dropped him.

What were they THINKING?
>>
>>220271197
I thought he was just going to take one of Norman's masks and color it yellow, put on a hood and bam, Hobgoblin. Yeah, that's not Harry Osborn in the comics, he was just Green Goblin as well, but when else are you gonna do Hobgoblin on-screen? Instead he wasn't given any name in the film at all, and just wore a ski outfit.

Willem Dafoe's Green Gobiln is unfathomably based, go fuck yourself
>>
>>220271268
Harry was Hobgoblin in the Ultimate Spider-Man continuity so there was precedent for that.
>>
>>220271197
>>220271268
He's never referred to as hobgoblin in the film because they had to rewrite a lot of shit to make room for Venom and appease Sony. So his character is basically just an extension of Dafoe's goblin instead of the actual Hobgoblin.
>>
>>220267125
Is the goblin disease a thing in the comics? It looks retarded in the movie at any rate.
>>
>>220272179
no, but some form of degenerative disease was popular in Spider-Man comics during the 90s. The clones had it, and a few of the villains Sony owns the rights to had powers based around it.
>>
>>220271923
But he's not even in a Goblin costume even though we saw he had all the Goblin gear there.

>>220271923
Yeah but surely they could do better than this

>>220272179
Norman's thing is that he's a psychopath, Harry was ill once (what makes Norman mad ass hell and kill Gwen) but his thing was drug problems. In Ultimate they both get mutated into monstrous forms (here Harry is Hobgoblin instead of Green Goblin), with Harry suffering brainwashing and trauma before which makes him have a split-personality after.
The movies mix it all up.

and it's just a static one, instead of the cool ass animatronic one
>>
>>220269015
Electro isnt pointless. He servers as the equal to harry; someone who wants to be seen and heard but never was. The movie is full of metaphors and symbolisms and it doesnt shy from portraying how they are both equals

Raimi's hands down
In some years we will hear americans saying they can't replicate that anymore because they've "lost the technology"
>>
>>220273352
>>had the perfect actor for the role
>>put a mask on him
They never wanted to do this in the first place because putting masks on famous actors is seen as a waste of money and talent. You can't see their facial expressions. They chose the mask with the visor because it allowed him to remove it or lose it in fights.
>>220274301
Also this.
>>
>>220274258
I grew up with the late 90s/early Y2K ultimate spiderman cartoons so I genuinely like the new suits but Holland and Garfield are just too fucking small to fill them properly. Looks like a kid in a Halloween costume.
>>
The action in this film kinda blows, outside of the final brawl scene. Much improved on in 2. I don't think Raimi really had a handle on that big scale CG laden blockbuster kind of action yet, how to transfer the energy of his usual filmmaking into these larger more digital spaces.
>>
>>220277856
This was meant for Spider-Man 1, obviously.

The hate for the ASM1 suit is profoundly incomprehensible to me. Yes it needed a belt but the texture was great and authentic, it's the polar opposite of cheap as people claim.

TASM1 had the best suit, FFH's black and red suit is a distant second for me. If it's a new spider-man property, I want him to have a new suit to go with it, and not just do the same classic suit. I also loved the ps4 suit from the very first trailer and it is probably my favorite (non-comic) spider-man suit ever.
