The new RE film is completely different to the previous RE films which were know for their A to B structure, constant tension, and the protagonist starting out with no weapons and gradually getting better weapons as they got closer to their destination and ran out of ammo.You might say, "But wait, this new movie sounds exactly the same as the old movies." Nah, it's not because Cregger has never seen those movies, and his film is a completely revolutionary rework of RE where he focuses on the mechanics and pacing of the game instead of using the story or characters of the game. Nobody else has ever done this before. They've definitely never created a new protag that serves as an audience proxy telling a story that runs parallel to some version of the events of RE2.

>>220272029Rats, actually.I honestly think the director's initial comments are hurting the movie more than anything else. I read the script and it's honestly surprisingly faithful to the games in tone. It takes a lot of inspiration from that 4D live experience ride thing you can find on YouTube.
